It's been discussed to death and should be moved to the "Never-ending pointless threads". 154 GPS @ about 157-159 indicated: Bags on/bags off, Windshield up/windshield down; Rider hunched over the tank/rider sitting upright, picking his/her nose. The FJR will do it.

Do you have to open you shield to pick your nose? I would think you would have to be tucked down behind the windshield to do that. :fie:

Check out Warchild's avatar.  I think that's pretty much it.
I don't think that was on his FJR. I think it was his Blackbird last June. It was out there on a closed track, EMT's on standby.....and a helicopter......yeah....that's it.

......or it was it 93 on the way to Ely? :super1:

What surpised me is that the picture turned out. One has the tendency to shift to the ultraviolet as they approach the speed of light ;)

Thanx guys,I apologyze for putting the thread where it didn't belong,I swear I looked around and I was surprised not to see this topic right over here, maybe I didn't looked hard enuff'.

I thought about that when I saw Wars avatar,he must have putted a cyclocomputer to his bike, very clever and accurate,I used to do it on my off-road bikes, and you will get the MAX SPEED latched. ;)

Mine toped out real easy,I guesstimeted above 150mph since I slowly pulled away from a cocky BMW M-3.Very stable mount, don't need a steering damper. You can even let off the bars and write over the tank.

For the record,I have toped 170's in my Gixxer on the track,so I'm not a stranger to top end speeds.

155 mph on the western kentucky pky. in route to reel foot lake in tenn. Bags on shield and head down and adrenilin up and yes there was more throttle to burn but the hair on the back of my neck that was having difficulty standing up managed to control the throttle at that point. A rush you might say, naw, just an accomplished goal in the ( I think I saw the tunnel vision department)!

If you lay it over at 155 MPH, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a flesh, tissue, muscle lollipop?

The Salt Flats are in UTAH. :D

To highjack your thread could you do a comparison of what you like dislike about your GSXR compared to your FJR?

Thanks, as I am considering a GSXR750 or 1000.

GPS indicated 138 out in the middle-of-nowhere west Texas... The speedo was in the 140's. Was fairly weighted down, and had the sidebags on. Probably could have gotten it higher, but that was good enough for the timebeing.

Don't do that. :stop:

Go start your own thread.

Wouldn't have done it if it hadn't ended up in the "Pointless Recurring Thread" but as you wish :D

Anybody ever topped out the FJR?I did once but then again I couldn't even look at the speedo...
I can tell you how fast your '02 Gixxer goes.

I had my '03 GSX-R750 tapped out at 172 mph via gps. Speedo said like 188.

FJR is 154ish flat out.

Yamazuki, my response was with "tongue planted firmly in cheek". There's no telling what heading ou'd have to use in the search to find the information, so NOW everyone will be pegged to yor posting.

Vibration above 125 mph? Nope! IIRC, it was steady as a rock but, verily, the scenery approacheth with much haste.

WOW! where did you guys get all these really fast FJRs. Mine only goes as fast as the slow boat from China.

THink it'll be faster in April after I take delivery.

Comparison vtwin Gixxer vs FJR...hmmm they are just diferent animals...the FJR's riding position is much more upright, and the turbulence from the windshield is a pitty, even though its neat at normal speeds. The GSX slices thru air in a much more efficient way,in fact,I belive the FJR's limiting factor is aerodynamics, you just can't push that profile any faster.Stability is not an issue, both bikes feel like you are seated on a big rock,at that speed, though the Gixxer ovbiously reacts to every little movement you do.

did any of the bikes develop any vibration from the handle bars going 125 +?
Not at all.125 is pretty tame, compared to what they can do.

I don't think you can lay down a bike by going fast in straight line,in fact, not even if you actually want, bcz the momentum the bike has makes it incredibly steady, just make sure there are no intersections and no LEO's around.... :bleh:
