    Food and cooking.

As I can’t post on fjriders again, will start a cooking thread here. 1-1/2 pounds of hot peppers from the garden to become hot sauce: It’s green, and it’s mean. Used mostly the Serrano’s and the larger Dragon Cayennes for the sauce, the bulk of the cayenne went into the freezer for later...

    Ford Ranger 4WD not engaging

I know a bit about motors, but am fairly clueless on how 4WD works.    My 2001 Ford Ranger will not go into 4WD. No noticeable sound when the switch is turned. No light displayed.    What should I check here? What are possible causes?

    Sad pet stuff....

Our 11 year old cat, Isabella, is not doing well. Seen here with her brother from the next litter, Antonio on the left, was a happy affectionate big tub of goo clocking in at almost 15 pounds. Sadly now, I doubt she’s more than 2 pounds. She was constantly looking for food, but now not...

    Knifemaker making knives.

After a 20+ year hiatus from making knives, looking for stuff to do during my 8 week furlough from work, I’ve gone back to making knives again.  First is a sandwich knife with Cocobolo handles and stainless steel pins: The next was a 8” Chefs knife, with Desert Ironwood handles and stainless...

Took 4 years, but now as I have time on my hands as I just got furloughed from work for the next 8 weeks, I finally fabricated some mounts to put the Givi Monokey bags on the bike .

    Shoei RF1000

My Shoei RF1000 finally gave up the ghost. Interior foam began to begin flaking. Yes, know you’re supposed to replace your helmet every 5-8 years. This puppy went about 14 years for me. Great lid. Luckily I have two of them, and the other seems fine.     I didn’t want someone to pull this...

    Scotch or Bourbon?

I think I had a thread on cigars/whiskey awhile back, but was just curious here... Do you prefer Scotch or Bourbon? The reason I ask is I've been a Scotch guy since high school (yep even underage) My brother in law is a Bourbon guy. He sent me a bottle of a Kentucky Bourbon he really likes, and...

    Merry Christmas

Due to commitments with relatives, we celebrated our usual Christmas Day opening of the presents yesterday. Son came over, grilled up some burgers, finally using the kettle grill I bought just for the lid for my UDS. Pretty nice haul for me this year: Hope you all have a Very Merry...

    Texting.....

A guy texts his neighbor: "Bob, I'm sorry. I've been riddled with guilt and I have to confess: I have been helping myself to your wife when you're not around, probably more than you. I know it's no excuse but I don't get it at home. I can't live with the guilt any longer. I hope you'll accept...

    Friendship

PROOF THAT MEN HAVE BETTER FRIENDS Friendship among women: A woman didn't come home one night. The next morning she came home. She told her husband that she had slept over at a friend's house. The man called his wife's 10 best friends. None of them said that they knew anything about it...

    Could have been me.

A few days ago, while riding my Bonnie, it was cold so I wore my old leathers. I stopped for a red light in downtown St. Louis .In the lane next to me, was a car full of latte sucking hippie millennials. They had anti-gun bumper stickers on their car. When they looked at me, they began voicing...

    Santa messes up

A Policeman on his horse says to a little girl on her bike, "Did Santa get you that?" "Yes," she replies. "Well tell Santa to put a reflector light on it next year," and fines her $5. The little girl looks up at the Policeman and says, "Nice horse you've got here. Did Santa bring you that too?"...

Making Jerky and other dehydrated foods

Am looking at making my own jerky. Do not know squat about this, other than you put marinated meat into a food dehydrator and out comes jerky. So, any tips, suggestions, useful gadgets and recommendations on what model dehydrator to get will be useful. And any recipes once I get going. So far...
