Oh yeah...it's so. I am actually on my second tire. Replaced the first one with just short of 4k miles. It is working out nicely for its purpose.

    Going to the Dark Side

When the weather cooperates I will get out again and play with the air pressures a couple #'s at a time. In the meantime just to ease my noob brain... I have some people suggesting that I should be in the mid to upper 20's yet I am seeing here mid to upper 30's. I realize that every rider...

    Going to the Dark Side

Tire is on. After moving exhaust and placing 1/8" washers on wheel hubs there is enough clearance. I have a hugger to help protect the Ohlins shock that I decided to cut down about 4 inches. It is still high enough to protect the shock. I was expecting to hate the handling but was pleasantly...

    Going to the Dark Side

I did some more checking this morning and was able to move the exhaust can, the limiting width factor, out a little over an inch. That 'should' create the overall space for the 205/50 to fit. Spacing out the wheel was mentioned if necessary to create more space on the hub side. Since the VFR is...

    Going to the Dark Side

I order all my tires on the web. Motorcycle, car, bicycle and lawnmower. What's the problem? And why are you looking for a preowned tire? I'm beginning to think you are way overthinking this. Perhaps rather than asking for VFR info on an FJR forum a visit to a more appropriate forum is...

    Going to the Dark Side

Did some searching today and there is no preowned 205/50/17 tire in my podunk little AR town. Also no tire retailer can get the Riken so I would have to order on the internet. Although the FJR stock tire size is a 180/55 and the 205/50 Raptor will fit, I am not so sure the tire will fit my VFR...

    Going to the Dark Side

I am thinking the Raptor is what I am gonna try. What did you like better about the RikenI see they have a 205/45 and 205/50. What size might be better and why? Thanx.

    Going to the Dark Side

Thank you for your response. Yes I did read the FAQ but thanx for pointing it out in case I had not. If you have any other suggestions for reading, it would be appreciated. I also read quite a bit of the thread(not all 215 pages). I was just wanting to make sure I understood and had latest info...

    Going to the Dark Side

Hello again gentlemen/ladies, I just purchased a spare wheel for my VFR1200 so I can take a ride on the darkside. I have been to skeered to attempt before now but am getting tired of the hassle and expense of low mileage mc tires. I have done 'lots' of reading both here and on other sites as...

    FJR in curves and twisties..?

I remember that day! Put 77,000 miles on my fjr before purchasing the vfr. It can handle the twisties just fine. It takes a bit more effort due to its weight but if you don't mind...it doesn't either. if it had a bit better lean angle (leanier) I would still have my 07 fjr or a newer one.

Front end vibration, especially on decelleration

Every fourth or fifth tire I mount has or develops this symptom. So that's about 2 a year. I just run them and look forward to the next replacement. Guess it is just how it is for mass manufactured tires...regardless of the brand.
