IIHS Study on Integrated Braking Systems

The brakes on the Super Tenere are terrific. ABS which cuts out @ very slow speed under 5 mph. Apply front brake 1st & you get unified braking. Apply back brake 1st and not unified. So ZERO problems with trail braking.

    side case capacity?

Thanks everyone! Here's the reason that I asked................... I'm gonna ride about 4,500 miles in Australia. The bike that I'm renting has a givi topcase mount so I'm bringing my own Givi 52l as luggage. It also has Givi 36l side cases. I have Givi 46l liners (from my V-Strom) and...

    Home safe

After checking the weather on Sunday we joined the mass exodus to try and stay ahead of the rain. We left J.C. along EOM Rt 1 thru the head of the Snake then north to Damascus where we picked up 58 east all the way to Rt 16 north. My tires were already borderline but Rt 16 finished them...

    EOM Route Popularity Poll

I rode this 281 today...........noticed the sign still said "gravel"................as well it should, cause it is gravel........................still not paved unless you think lots of loose gravel is pavement.................. Don't know how long the gravel goes but we went a few miles then...

    We are here!

We got here yesterday via the western half of EOM#5..............great ride over the mt from KY to VA! Rt 70 was good too...some resurfacing going on. Today we slept in a bit then found a "weather window" for part of another rt....thru the Snake and back over a little adventure...

    EOM Route Popularity Poll

If your main goal is the Dragon, there are ways to shorten that day. I think "Limp Home" part is a little bit of a misnomer. Wayah Rd. is a bit of a challenge in and of itself. Don't wanna be limpin on that road................. :P

    Sport Riding help

When I first saw this thread, I resisted posting. Once I get going on this topic, I can't stop without writing a book about it. There are so many things that all have to work together, in order to ride twisties skillfully and with a high level of safety. Well now Yort has bumped this back to...

    Using linked brakes

I agree with what's already been said, Your fall was not related to linked brakes. Practice is good. Progressive application is important-giving the weight transfer time to shift more traction to the front. In addition, stay off the front brakes as much as possible if the surface is...

No. But I will try to contact someone that just rode it last month and try to find out. Done.

    EOM Route Popularity Poll

The big yellow sign warning of hairpins on gravel always kept me off 281........ now that it's paved, it's a must do for me. But no way I want to ride through Smoky Mt NP and the congestion to the north. (But if you've never been there, you should go thru the Park at least once!) So I will...

    Cherokee to the Skyway

Having heard of this road before, but never ridden it, I had to check this out on my Garmin software. I wanted to plot it so I could maybe hit it during EOM. This is what I found: Actually drops about 2,000 feet over about 12 miles. But the first 2 miles it drops 800 ft and the second 2...

    Cherokee to the Skyway

There is nothing wrong with the road itself, it's the traffic that's the problem. Dragon/Skyway Twisties/Sweepers Apples/Oranges You want to see "too much work", try riding rt 80 its entire length. (starts near Marion, NC goes up over BRP and continues north)

    side stand

Do not park it facing down hill, , then make sure it's completely deployed with your left foot. That's sufficient.

Not exactly.............If they are riding in a pack.........they are riding within the limits of the pack. Individually, things would be different (not necessarily better).
