Gen II Clutch Removal and Inspection

I know there is already great advice and tutorials for the clutch R&R, but I thought I would add another perspective.

FJR Milestones - Places you've been

My father-in-law was my riding buddy. He was riding a 2015 R1200RT. We did the Columbia Ice Fields in late July of 2018. We rode on up to Jasper after leaving the Icefields and got stopped at a traffic light right at the turn in to the hotel and it started pouring rain. We were completely...

    Have backrest, what bag options?

I have a "T-Bags" soft luggage that has a slot that fits over the backrest and straps that I wrap around the riders grab rails and cinch down. Usually carry around 30 pounds in it. This bag has been on multiple road trips and logged well over 50k miles with no issues.

Didn’t get a chance to see the plates. We were on a bus as they rode by.

We’re on a river cruise and stopped in Budapest for a day of sightseeing and saw a group of 9 motorcycles in town. 6 of them were FJRs.

    Funky Flasher Issue

I had something similar happen two years ago on my 08 and did what SLK50 suggested above. It was a lot of work. I went through every connection and checked all switches and relays per the service manual. All I found was a couple of slightly corroded terminal connectors. I cleaned those up...

    2006 Gen II coolant change

I have an '08 FJR with a little over 64k on the odo and just finished my third coolant flush. I've figured out a couple of tricks that make it a little easier and not as messy. I place a rag over the coolant hose down by the drain bolt so it blocks the coolant when it drains out. Then I remove...

AE clutch fluid change & bleed problem

You may need to replace the hose going to the slave cylinder. Here's my story... I don't know how relevent it is to the AE, but I am having trouble shifting from neutral to 1st on my '08 A model, without grinding it into gear (more than the usual clunk). I checked the fluid and it was nasty...

    Need Advice...

The buffeting on the wife from the stock windshield was pretty bad so I added a National Cycle V-Stream windshield. Also take the advice of getting an aftermarket seat. With these two changes we went from less than hourly stops to tank to tank if we wanted to. Enjoy!

    Tulsa Poker Run 2010

Anyone planning on riding the 2010 Tulsa Poker Run? I know there are several members in the Tulsa area and was thinking we could meet for breakfast somewhere and then do the run. Hopefully the 100 degree temps will be gone by then. I looked at the route on the web site...

    Main ECU Connector Contamination...

03HiYoSilver, Thanks for the reply. I have almost 13k on the odo. The only change I've made is added a GPS. It's wired directly to the battery. I have it on my winter projects list to add a power block. Thanks for the link. I'm not finished reading all of it yet but have seen at lease two...

    Main ECU Connector Contamination...

I've got an 08 with a miss that's getting worse so I thought I'd have a look. I found the connector on the left side behind the side plastic, tucked between the water hoses that go to what I think is the thermostat. Pull on the harness and it'll come out from between the hoses. Then just pull...
