I have a Nuvi 550 and have used it on 3 different IBA rides; SS1000, BB 1500, SS2000. During two of the rides we rode through heavy rains and wind. I simply put a baggie over it and secured it with a zip tie...no issues.

I live 10 miles from Fontana and would gladly serve as an ending witness!

I agree they are great emails to get! I just got one confirming my BB1500/SS2000 ride in August! Congrats on your ride!

Thanks for the ride report! This year I completed a SS1000, SS2000, and a BB1500 so the 50CC is a ride that I am seriously considering doing.

I have been using my SPOT for almost a year now and am very happy with its performance and piece of mind it gives my family. I also mount mine on my bike and true I may not be able to get to it to press the 911 button at least they will be able to find me and save my wife any prolonged agony...
