I have indeed done it,I took them off and I kind'a liked it exept the coolant tank screws the look.Other than that it looks very bully.It does run one bar cooler in all situations.No pics though,but I got some "WTF" looks on the road.

let me see if I untsrestood...you say an FJR is unconfortable? You wanna try a GSX instead? I have them both and the FJR is a 500 mile-a-day bike vs the GSX is a 20 minute bike before you need painkillers!!! Unless you have really long arms!! THere's no way ANY bike in the world is more...

I heard ya. Jap speedos are pretty optimistic,that's a known fact.Specially if you re-gear,you will throw away the calibration.Mine has -1 up front +2 on the back for 16/43 (stock is 17/41).It makes for a lively acceleration and a fun playbike,the lost top end is very dificult to reach...

Comparison vtwin Gixxer vs FJR...hmmm they are just diferent animals...the FJR's riding position is much more upright,and the turbulence from the windshield is a pitty,even though its neat at normal speeds.The GSX slices thru air in a much more efficient way,in fact,I belive the FJR's limiting...

I hear the damn ticking noise,very subtle... I dont feel any power loss,referenced to when the bike was new.It's out of warranty,how much does it cost to fix the tick? Is it progressive and or deteriorating? THX!!!

I founded two (2) 15 amp fuses right beside the coils,if you open up the right side fairing(facing as seated on the bike) ,just take out the black plastic cover opposite of the glove compartment.its just 3 or 4 screws. Sorry for the delay in the answer!!!

You will have to back track to the last known good configuration before the changes were made,yes...sometimes we do screw perfectly good machines in the quest to fix what's not broken... Also,read my thread "Emergency,my FJR won't start",just to rule out that you are also a victim of that...

I had to travel to South America and when I'm finally back,I tried to start up my bike,no luck!!! Can't belive it! My trusty FJR finally gave me a problem after 13,500 of non stop fun! Here's the description: -It will try to start,that is,the starter motor will spin,but it will not fire up...

I got hooked on wheeliying my FJR(its sooo easy) but then it started to develop a little slop on the headtube and a ticking noise,so I quited the habit(and adjusted the headtube) and bought another bike to let my inner squid rrip. :bleh:

I work as a field service engineer for one of the Big ones on MRI's,Cat scanners,nuclear med cameras,so Im no stranger to wrenching,I love to rebuild my top ends on 2 strokes but I have yet to work with valves & cams,though I know I can ,I better start out with my 750 gixxer... :lol:
