Ray Slocomb, FjRay - Now on second honeymoon with Patti

Sold my FJR (And my soul!) and haven't been here for awhile, but the annoying daily emails brought me back. This forum will never be the same without the man, the myth, the legend Ray. 😭 But glad Ray and Patti are together again. I hope you find a place for all yer "projects" Don?

    WTB Muzzy 4 into 1

It ain't a Muzzy, butt the only other manufacturer I've found to do a full 4 into 1 for the FJR is Cobra Decat, gain flow 'n lose weight, 'n with a Ivan flash, should pep up the motor. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Naked bikes and gravel / fire roads

I would think an MT10 would be better in the dirt, 'n a fenda extenda would prolly help w/ the radiator/oil cooler. Ridden my FJR on many a dirt road, 'n the only problem I've had is like you; turn'in the pig around at a dead end. Wet, slimy mud always gives me pucker moments too. I used to...

    Tire longevity

Yes, slow "slabbers" get 20K outta tires, butt I like to rail twisties; hard on da gas, hard on da brake, shifting 'n stuff.

    Tire longevity

The key to tire life is proper suspension set up, 'n psi. I dun got 8,300 outta a set of T30s by running 42F 'n 45R, 'n bet you'd get that or more outta a set of PR5s? Get yerself a digital gauge so you know it's accurate, 'n air them babies up!

    Concours or FJR

^THIS^ 'n the fact the FJR goes farther on a tank of gas.  Win, win, win fer me.

What happened to basic quality control

^THIS^ You can worry 'bout a lotta stuff, or you can ignore it 'n ride; I choose ta just ride. 90K mi on my '07 'n ain't noth'in broke yet. 🏍️ This is the joy of FJR ownership, you can just ride the thing 'n not worry.

Virtual Private Network - who uses one?

I like the free version, cuz it isn't running in the background slowing yer 'puter. (Super Anti-Spyware too.) But after you load Malwarebytes, do all the updates, and run a scan, you wanta deactivate the trial version. Go to the little gear thing in the upper right, then account, and somewhere...

Virtual Private Network - who uses one?

The interwebz is a dangerous place my friend. It's always gonna be a trade off between convenience and security. Since you already have a wireless router, that's a good hardware firewall. A VPN will make you safer, but if you get viruses/malware on any of your devices, a VPN won't help you...

Virtual Private Network - who uses one?

Purdie much with any VPN you'll get that, but you can also pick a server in a location near you. Google searches, uses your IP address to find what yer looking for near you. I'm in (The real) Northern Kalifornia, and could use a server down in San Jose, which is ( 'bout 250 miles away) but I...

Virtual Private Network - who uses one?

Bean using IPVanish fer 'bout 6 years. Ya gotta pay for it, ($78 annually) but they (Allegedly) don't keep logs, gotta a bunch of different servers you can connect to in a bunch of different countries. It was the shiznit  back when I signed up, dunno if it's still one of the top VPNs anymore...

Tire Repair (internal patch) in Sacramento/Auburn area?

^THIS^ Because Mr. Bug is soooooo eloquent. :lol2: I've used the cheap works 'n they usually work fine, butt rode over a 3/8" bolt once, 'n the hole was too big for worms, so I got a Stop & Go kit. (They'll plug a larger hole.) Recently bought a DynaPlug kit since they're right down in Chico...
