I've Been Unfaithful - To My FJR

I finally spent some extended time (6 hours) on the FJR, and we are in love again. I forgot it literally drives itself - and ohhh the SMOOTH POWER! As many stated, the weight disappears once you're on the move. After being on the dirt bike so much, I kept having the urge to stand while riding...

Insurance Coverage on Bikes in Storage or Not Riding

Thanks for the replies. I was planning to get an antique plate for the bike after I got it back on the road. Maybe I will go ahead and get a plate and be done with it.

Insurance Coverage on Bikes in Storage or Not Riding

I am interested in those who have insurance coverage on bikes that are old, sentimental, collector bikes, in storage, or not being ridden for whatever reason. Even though a bike may not be plated and ridden, there are a variety of reasons for having coverage in case of theft or damage. The...

I've Been Unfaithful - To My FJR

Thanks for the replies! I will inform my family that you have instructed me to drastically increase my seat time. That is what you said - Right?

I've Been Unfaithful - To My FJR

Up until about three years ago I loved my 2008 FJR and even took it on some business trips with my suit rolled up in a bag. I retired three years ago thinking I was finally going to do some traveling and camping on the bike. Then eye surgery, knee surgery and two separate cardiac episodes for...

Looking for Selling Advise for 2008

I was just considering selling my 2008 FJR, since life has gotten in the way and I have ridden it very little the past few years. However, after looking at the value, I've decided to keep it. Even though it's a '08 and maybe not worth more than $5k, it's still a lot of bike for the money -...

    FJR Fees

After doing some research and coming up with a price range I feel comfortable with, I negotiate only on an OTD price. That way they can do whatever they want with the numbers. I've seen some dealers drop the fees out in order to show I bought the vehicle at an almost retail price. When I was...

    Ghey stripes

Fairlaner? Maybe he was missing all of the attention he received in 2008. :)

    Motorcycle Shops in Atlanta

I am looking for recommendations for motorcycle stores in Atlanta with a large selection of accessories - luggage, riding gear, etc. I am in Atlanta for a couple of days on business, and I need a "fix" while I am away from the bike. Thanks.

    Old Oil From Walmart

They should remove the "Wal" out of Walmart. I think Sam Walton would be appalled at the service in the stores.

    Staying cool while riding

I've got the Bilt vest, and I used it for the first time last week. The temps were in the low 90's, and the vest kept me cool for right at 3 hours. I rode for a few hours before I put the vest on, so I could see just what kind of difference it made. It definitely made made the trip more pleasant.

    Have I Neglected the FJR?

I only began riding about six years ago. At the time, I could not afford a Harley, so I bought a Honda VTX and all of the black uniform stuff to be part of the "cruiser lifestyle." I followed the recipe almost to a "T" - washed the bike often, polished it more than rode it, and never rode if...

Heated gear with a loaded question

A couple of years ago when I bought my first gear from Warm-n-Safe, I think I received a 20% discount. They had some kind of discount for quite a few professional occupations, and I fit one of them. I may have met the generic occupation of "has job." :) I looked to see if that was still...

    Best Rain Gear

I had my first experience with the Frogg Toggs (Road Toad version) for an hour and a half downpour yesterday. Upper body stayed dry with no water down my back, but my knees, crotch, and side of my lower legs were soaked. I have a nice water proof Firstgear set, but it is hot in the summer.

    Earphones

I've had the single speaker S-Plug for about four years, and I love them. I have a rather tight helmet, and these don't cause any discomfort. I have the short cord version, which I attach to an Ipod Nano that is hung around my neck. I think the sound is great, and the plugs do serve as good...
