Riding a motorcycle is highly risky, right?

If I didn’t ride I’d be way more susceptible to a lot of those other things.

    Short Rider Questions

5’3” with a 29” inseam. I use lots of cheats like an aftermarket saddle that’s a bit thinner, boots with 1/4” extra sole added, and the suspension set just a wee bit lower than optimal, but the best thing I did was practice the slow speed stuff...a lot. Oh yea, frame sliders help too.

    F150 Engine recommendations

Probably going to replace my ‘05 5.4 FX4 supercrew towards the end of this year. It only has 87k miles, but since it gets used in NW Ohio and sits outside all the time the body and frame rust is winning. The rear cab corners are gone, to the point that the birds are always building nests in...

    sold

Sold This is the clear medium CalSci for Gen2 bikes. Its about 2 taller and a little wider than stock. I used it for about a year, so it has some light scratches and bug goo still on it, but its in pretty good shap. Comes with the cloth shipping cover seen in the photo. $50 shipped to the lower 48.

    Family time with weapons

I’m looking forward to putting hands on the P365. Nobody in my area has them yet though.

insole inserts for 1 to 1/2" lift

I wore the soles mostly off a really good pair of riding boots a while back. Took them to a local cobbler to check what new soles would cost and figured it wouldnt hurt to see if he could make me taller at the same time. He was able to add about 1/2 to the soles along with new tread. It...

    Wire Feed Welders

Agree with above^^^^. The first small mig unit I purchased was one of these, the Hobart has been very solid for me. Don’t make the same mistake I did though and go for solid wire and 75/25 mig gas right away. I spent way too much time fooling around with flux core and all the mess. Just...

    Family time with weapons

I agree with everything Zilla said. If I had to add anything, it'd be a footnote to rule #4. Remember that you are liable for every bullet that leaves your gun, regardless of your intent, situation or circumstance. Not really a great example, but we just had an asshole drug dealer shoot an...

    Family time with weapons

LCP doesn't fit anybody's hand, but you can make it suck less to shoot with a mag extension, overgrip and some bright paint on the almost non-existent front sight. I shoot mine about once a month just to remind me how hard it is to shoot well, but only a dozen rounds or so. I spend the rest of...

    Smokers (BBQ - not grilling)

I use this sometimes in my electric smoker. https://www.amazon.com/Amazen-Pellet-Tube-Smoker-12/dp/B00CS6YFIC Burns for about 6 hours, lays right in the bottom of the cabinet. This way you don't have to load chips in the normal part every hour, but if you don't like the price of pellets, you...

    Smokers (BBQ - not grilling)

Put a couple pork butts on this morning. Trying a pellet tube this time instead of putting 1/2 cup of chips in every hour. We'll see how these come out.

    Handlebar shake

I've only had mine wobble badly once on a hard decel from illegal speeds. It was the end of a long riding season and I had much maintenance that needed to be done. My guess on the FJR is that the bike's geometry makes it prone to this issue and small variables (tire wear, inflation, steering...

Best race I've seen this season.

Making Jerky and other dehydrated foods

We do jerky from time to time. The most helpful thing we learned is that there's never any reason to slice up our own meat. Just talk to the butcher at one of our local groceries (ok, you have to go during normal hours) and tell them what you're doing. They make a cut selection and slice it...

    EOM 2017 - Home Safe

Got home around 4ish, doing the 425 miles non-stop. Thanks to everybody who made this event possible.

    Smokers (BBQ - not grilling)

Exactly, me too. They last a lot longer in northern Ohio that way.
