    Seeking advice on first FJR

Welcome to the FJR world, there’s nothing like it! Just a couple thoughts: *Weight is relative. I came to the FJR from a Goldwing and found it a breeze. Like the Wingabago, the weight pretty much disappears once you’re moving. After a few days you’ll forget it’s there. (Unless you pick up your...

Ray Slocomb, FjRay - Now on second honeymoon with Patti

Well, crap. Each year, when I go up to the PNW to visit the kids, I pass through LaPine and think “Next year I really must make time to have coffee with Ray.” Requiescat In Pace, Ray.

New mileage record on a single tank of gas

Okay, I’ll say it. Of the several reasons I had for adding an FJR to my stable, none of them had anything to do with fuel economy. Like imagining a date with a beautiful, intelligent, energetic woman and wondering if she likes oatmeal for breakfast. Yes, I’m aware that when this thread...

HELP! - Retired, will the FJR1300 fit in the garage?

At 67 she’s younger than I am so… yes, she’s young. I’ve been away for a while and the OP seems to have left the building so it’s probably too late to suggest the obvious: Keep his wives [sic] car, ditch his car, get the FJR, and, after a few months, begin wondering what #3 will look like. N+1

Hello from Milwaukee~~I am in over my head and need help please!!

Welcome to the madness and congratulations on your new steed. May you enjoy many, many,(s)miles together. It is encouraging to read someone recognize the frightening potential for “unintended consequences” that this beauty can be in the hands of an inexperienced or impulsive rider. Far better...

    Time to say goodbye

Whew! Glad you reacted and escaped. (Brings back the smell of burning rubber from a similar fortuitous event that we had a few years back.) I have installed various versions of P3 brake lights (Skene Lights) on all three of my bikes. I think you had something similar on your FJR - an extra...

    Time to say goodbye

Hi Gary - welcome to the world of the Hondapotomus! I’ve heard so many good things about the new Wing (you mentioned several of them) and I’m sure you’re gonna love it. Seven years ago, when I bought Lucille (Miss Lucy Liu) from Beemerdons, I was going in the opposite direction - I wanted...

Visiting Miss Lucy Liu/Lucille next week

500 mile days are not a problem. (Concord to Bend is 475). FJRs & Wingabagos just eat up the miles. There’s a nice little motel in Bend - clean, comfortable, and not too expensive - where I have reservations. And a good spot for breakfast just a couple blocks away.

Visiting Miss Lucy Liu/Lucille next week

Last year I went up 97 from Bend to Yakima, then 90 toward Snohomish. My thought this year was to take 12 west from Yakima. Are you familiar with 12? Looks like it has some nice curves and off the beaten path?

Visiting Miss Lucy Liu/Lucille next week

As some might recall, last year our son adopted Miss L.L/L and I rode her up to Seattlish from O.C. A couple months later they moved across the state and have been enjoying drier weather. Next week Ill do the Second Annual Road Trip to the PNW, this time both directions - and aboard the...
