    BRP in 1 day

So I have a question for my SE FJR family. I am planning a trip to VA to visit with one of my sons and his family. During the visit I plan on making myself scarce for a couple of days before getting back to them. So I am wondering, is it possible to ride the entire length of the Blue Ridge...

Elmer's Car & Toy Museum - Last Yr

Just a heads up that this will be the last year that Elmer's will be open to the public. It's a little known museum in SW WI near so many great roads that SW Wisconsin is known for. You'll have to go to their website to find which weekends they will be open, but I have always felt that the ride...

MS Surface Go as a rallying companion

So I am debating on whether or not this could work as a routing tool.  I have no experience with it and know of no one who has one.  First question.  The only port it has is a USB-C.  Its fast, however as I understand it, it could cause problems hooking up to something (like a GPS).  I know I'd...

Nowthen Tech Day IX April 25th

This day has become something Joy and myself look forward to each Spring. A day to gather with friends at the start of each riding season.  Yes there will be some wrenching to be had, tires to be changed, and farkles to be talked about.  But more importantly fellowship with friends.  ...

Canyon Cages - New or used - Gen II

I am looking for a set for a friend's bike.  Getting it prepped for next summer's Butt Lite grand finale.  Maybe someone is selling their bike and would consider selling the cages separately.

    Nowthen, Another Tech Day 4/27

Yep, it's that time again. Most of us in the frozen North are probably 3 to 4 months away from starting our riding season. And so some of us already have our bikes in various stages of disassembly. But come April, inevitably there's always something that still needs to be done to our bikes...

    Super Tenere valve check

For my upcoming Tech Day, I've got an attendee who would like to do a valve check on his S10. For those of you who have one, can you tell me how it compares to an FJR? Are there any similarities? More complicated? Easier than it looks? Or perhaps better left to a pro? Not owning an S10...

    2018 Tour of Honor

Now I know there's a lot of us on this forum who participate in this rally, but this is aimed primarily to many of the new forum members who may not know anything about this. This is a rally where you decide what locations you want to visit and when to visit. Ok, so that may not be entirely...

    MN Tech Day 4/28

It's a new year and it's time to start planning rides n gatherings. In what has fast become one of my favorite pastimes in a riding season is hosting Tech Day. The amount of wrenching we do varies from year to year, but what never changes is the camaraderie we share as riders. Stories of...

    Pre rally sleep...or lack thereof

Any of you other riders literally losing sleep over this rally? I honestly didn't think I would get all that nervous about the upcoming ride, at least not until a couple days before the start when the reality of what I was about to embark upon would hit me like a well aimed frying pan. But for...

    Toll Transponders

So there's this discussion on the private forum on the IBA site. The way I am looking at it, there maybe only 2, maybe 3, that are actually worth having. As that discussion over there progresses, I get this image of stopping way too often to switch transponders during this rally. As it stands...

    Team Lyle Alamo May 12 - 14

Another fantastic opportunity to get out and ride. I know what some of you might be thinking, "riding around in Nevada? How boring is that?". But nooooo it's not. Prior to myself riding in this event, my only experience with riding in NV consisted of Interstates 15 and 80, and yes they are...

    Minnesota 1000 June 9 - 11

Sign up is now open for this really great rally. Team Strange has a rich tradition of putting on one of the best rallys year in and year out. OK so maybe I am a bit biased, but I have always had a fun time riding this one. Check it out fi you've ever thought of trying a rally...

    2017 Tour of Honor

For those of you riders who just can't come up with enough reasons to get out and ride, here's another excuse to hop on your bike and go. https://tourofhonor.com/ Part of your participation fee will go to one of three great charities. And for the most part, the places you'll be riding to are...

    MN Tech Day 4/22

It's time for that beginning-of-the-riding season tech day. I'd like to say by the time 4/22 rolls around that snow will be a distant memory, but seeing as how this is Minnesota, "distant memory" could be just last week. The snow will be gone and our winter bike storage cobwebs brushed off...

Gen I Headers & Oil Pan

I could buy an OEM oil pan online for a not too bad of a price, but that's not the case with the headers. To buy an OEM header from one of the parts houses, it requires me to purchase the entire exhaust system. At least that's how I read it.

    Bike stranded

Old Yeller is down for the count. Heading back to Denver for the end of ButtLite 8 when I hit a muffler. Tore up the underside up pretty good and am afraid it's a wrap for this girl. Anyways, I am having iit picked up and delivered to Laramie, WY. I am currently just east of Rawlins on I-80...

Yamaha Demo Truck in Cambridge, MN 6-25

I just happened to stop by Larsons Cycle this afternoon, and lo n' behold what do I see? Yamaha's demo truck in the parking lot. They were doing demo rides today (saw a group riding away as we drove up) and they will be again tomorrow from 9 - 3. There's at least 3 bikes I want to try out...

    ButtLite 8 July 3 - 9

Well it's almost here. 6 days of fun in the West. This years rally will be starting/finishing in Denver. For anyone interested, here's the link to the blog. https://buttliteviii.blogspot.com/ From what I have seen so far of the weather out there, it's going to be a hot one this time around...

    Clearwater Lights install instructions?

So here's the deal, back in Nov (I think) I bought some used Kristas from a fellow forumite. But I received no instructions, no big deal really I thought. When I recieved them, I took them out of the box and marveled at how nice they looked. And promptly put them back in the box again. So...
