    Lochsa/Lolo road work

    How was your ride?
  2. smithe68

What did you do to your FJR today?

Cleaned the millions of dead bugs that sacrificed themselves for my riding enjoyment over the weekend along the Lochsa and Lolo Pass.

    Lochsa/Lolo road work

Made the run today, no construction issues. Did run into a couple spots where the road has a serious ridge in the middle. The only model of motorcycle I saw more of than FJR's was Goldwings. Saw 2 '07's go by together, chatted with the owner of an '08, saw a '13 go by at the summit of Lolo...

Yamaha will change the world, well, the sport motorcycle world that is.

Realized I never got back to answer this. One of my local Yamaha dealers, Westside, confirmed it's the $7990 that is listed on Yamaha's site.

Yamaha will change the world, well, the sport motorcycle world that is.

I pulled the price directly from Yamaha's own website. I think I will stop at one of my local dealers tomorrow and see what they have to say as well.

Yamaha will change the world, well, the sport motorcycle world that is.

Assuming you are still talking about the FZ-09, it's only $7,990.00!

    Yamaha XT Bikes

Years ago I had an '84 XT600, really miss that bike. Recently, I started looking for a bigger dual purpose bike for running errands, a little bit of offroad riding, camping off the bike, etc. and was surprised to see a lack of that 600cc class bike from Yamaha. The other 3 Japanese companies...

    My new ride

Nice bike, my wife rides an '06 version of the bike, first year of the 6 speed transmission. Windex works well on all the chrome.

    Spokane Area FJR Riders

I have seen quite a few FJR's out this year in the area, including a couple on Fairchild besides mine. Just saying....

Best setup for iPhone and GPS mount

When I have been on the RAM site, I have not seen that reservoir mount like you have, any insight on where to get would be greatly appreciated!

What is the preferred boot of the FJR riders?

Great topic as I have been on the search for a pair of boots lately. Currently I wear a pair of Air Force issued, steel toe, boots that are nicely broken in and very comfortable because they breath a lot! My feet stay warm all the time so a boot that breaths well is good, even when temps dip...

Poor fuel economy with base gas?

I calculate my fuel economy myself, the built in computers on vehicles are ok for a spot check but I have never found them to be really that accurate. Lowest fuel economy prior to this tank was 41 mpg. Everything else seems fine, plenty of power all around, running smoothly, etc. I was...

Poor fuel economy with base gas?

Anyone else ever experience truly poor fuel economy after filling up on a military base? My last tank netted me 30mpg, that's a lot lower than normal, actually lower than anything I have ever had with this bike. This happened to me years ago with my 2000 Concours, which I was able to reproduce...

    Heated Gloves

I had heard that but, what about one that I connect to my battery tender cable? That would have enough power/amperage.

    Heated Gloves

I have been thinking about heated gloves myself but, they do always seem really bulky. I will be interested to see what people mention, also wonder if you can get gloves that use a standard 12v "lighter" socket like the one in the glove box on our bikes.

    FeeJeer has a little brother!

I miss my Victory sometimes, you can just make out the pic in my avatar, '04 Kingpin that I sold 2 years ago to get my FJR. Same seat as yours, I never had a problem with it, of course I like the stock FJR seat too.

Riding pants for a tall skinny guy?

Thanks, I will look into the Duluth ones as well.

Riding pants for a tall skinny guy?

So my temporary fix until I can find something better was, to go with some Carhartt pants that have gotten some good press, even outperforming some motorcycle jeans. Added some spare CE armor that I had to the knee area. I know it's not the best but, it's way better than the plain old jeans I...

Riding pants for a tall skinny guy?

I got to check out some Olympia pants today at one of the local dealerships, long enough standing there, too short when I got on the FJR in the showroom. They ride up over my boots. The next time I go in to try something on, I will have someone take a pic to show how bad it is, probably...
