Getting off FJR with bags on

This is the main reason that I painted the top of my bags with black truck-bed paint. https://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l237/Vicardon/Bags027.jpg See the following thread if you wanted more information: https://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l237/Vic...pg?t=1166078797...

    Tankslapper

I bought the Tankslapper kit for my bike. Was time consuming to put on. Took hours, looked good, but it did not stand up well. It collected moisture, dirt, bugs, etc. underneath as the windsteam, rain, etc. lifts it up. If you get it in the 3-M semi-permanent form it might be ok. I am now...

FJR sighting on TN 421 Sunday afternoon Oct. 29th

I went through Mountain City and took TN 421 all the way to Bristol. Now, I have been going to East Tennessee for 20 plus years and had never been on TN 421. I never had a reason to go on it and was not aware of what kind of road it was. Man was I surprised! That was better than the Dragon...

    Sidecase Protection

You must sand the area first. You must, this is critical, sand all the area up to the masking tape. Any area there that you do not sand will flake/peel off. The instructions on the can, if you use Duplicolor will help. I used #320 sandpaper. It is best to use 3M auto masking tape because...

    CalSci question

Bagger, I just trimmed it to fit the area. It is the perfect thickness to secure but can be removed easily. It is stiff enough so the wind pressure does not noticeably blow it inward. The tricky part is cutting the material without it cracking. I used sharp shears going very slowly. VicaDon

12 hours in Alaskan Rain, Sub-40 degrees--

Thought I would share with the group what I have found that works well in keeping me warm and dry in Alaskan riding weather. I rode over 250 miles this week, 8 hours, in heavy rain most of the ride, temperatures below 40 degrees and stayed dry and warm. When I returned home, there was no...

    HEATED GRIPS

I have the Big Bike Parts grips on the FJR; they produce only a moderate amount of heat on high (a 3 on a scale of 1-10). I wired them directly to the battery to see if my aux. fuse box was the problem. No difference. I bypassed the controller, still no difference. I have the Hot Grips on...

    Dear Abby

It was at that moment, crouching behind my FJR, that I noticed my engine seem to be leaking a little oil. Is this something I can fix myself or should I take it back to the dealer? Thanks...

Harley's mission statement - The video!

Every wonder why Harley riders usually won't wave at you if they see that you're not on a Harley? Here are some reasons. Can you add any more? Afraid it will invalidate their warranty. Leather and studs make it too hard to raise arm. Refuses to wave to anyone whose bike is already paid for...
