On Track Training Day Aug 21 in Palmer Mass.

This is Palmer Motorsports Park in Palmer, MA. A bunch of us New England and Eastern Riders will be going to a training day for Non-Sportbikes here on August 21, 2017. I am not connected with this event in any way, but have had a blast learning street riding with Motorcyclist scribe Ken Condon...

Best route creation software - by far

That happens with newer versions of Google Earth. The fix is to open Google Earth first and then use it in BaseCamp.

BaseCamp is more powerful and a better bet if you are following complicated routes.

Best Eastern Riding website complete after 7 years

Thank you. This made my day. Sometimes I wonder if I put all this time into a site that nobody sees. It has been a labor of love that I am happy to give away to fellow riders. The BaseCamp Agenda is the basis of a class that I have taught for the last few years. Garmin's help line refers users...

Best Eastern Riding website complete after 7 years

When I say complete, I mean that setup is complete. I had to build all the web pages, Google Maps, and GPS files. The site has always been, and always will be, constantly updated. I hope that if someone finds an error or a broken link that they will let me know. I doubt that this will ever be...

Best Eastern Riding website complete after 7 years

7 years ago I started a website about the best rides and riding in the East. I started with New England in response to all the questions about where the best riding was. The philosophy has always been to share all the information for free as a way to give back to the motorcycling community. The...

No detailed roads usually means that you did not download the detailed map to your GPS and to Basecamp. Do you see map 2017.2? GPS only is the default. Another possibility is that you do not have map detail set to highest.

I do not think it is hyperbole for Eastern Riders who use Basecamp in conjunction with the website that I provided. That makes Basecamp way more powerful than anything else out there. Give the website a good look.

I used to love Butler maps until they came to New England. I was stunned by how much of the very best stuff that they missed. I am very dissappointed.

There have been 43 riders who have contacted me this past week and said that they learned BaseCamp in a few hours using the agenda. Be patient. It can be done.

Best route creation software - by far

I used to do this years ago and it sucked. I was constantly looking for non-existent street signs and route signs - very dangerous. It is also very hard to do great complicated routes with a lot of turns. I ended up doing a lot of boring rides using well known well marked roads.
