I have a very early serial number AE, 6 years, well over 30K on the bike. ZERO issues. I've ridden the piss out of it, and also let it sit for long periods. Timex, baby! Keep in mind the number of bikes out there and how you just hear the bad news, not the preponderance of bike without issues...

My Audiovox still resides in the chin, close to the headers. Only been in there about 30K miles tho. Still works like a charm. I have, however, had the vacuum check valve croak a couple times.

Mine leaked like a sieve. Didn't fart around with the hinge, just remade a new seal using some RTV type stuff. You guys remember that way back when? I must have posted it on a Friday because I ended up at the bottom of a dogpile... for spending so much for a farkle that leaked. Still got it...

My '06 AE has the original battery. Never on a float. Sat for months on end in my semi heated garage. Starts right up (so far....).

I was riding on a US highway this past Sunday. First time I've ridden since last year. Punched on the cruise control, pulled out my phone and texted my buddy. Yes, I used it hands free. That is, I had my hands off the bars. Wasn't wearing any gear, either. Screw you all. :evilgrin: :fuck:

There's room for maybe one in the gb, and maybe one in the cowl in front of and under the gb. There's a pretty good sized nook in there. Or if you're brave, just put them under the T bar, wrapped in some insulation. Not that it worked for me....
