I did that on my FJ1200, hid the radar detector quite nicely...

    G2 Throttle Tube for Yamaha FJR1300 06-07

+10. This is my first fuel-injected bike, and it has a ton of off-idle torque. The G2 and spring unwind help, but re-learning how to do some elementary things so that I fit the bike better was key.

    Exterior House Painting

I use one of those rollers that sucks paint up into the handle like a big syringe. I spent about $600 on an airless back in 2000, because I had a friend that was a pro painter/drywaller, and that's what he used. I found that you can lose a LOT of paint (as much as a third) to overspray, and...

    Valentine One failures

Ka is in the middle of a frequency band reserved for military use. The reason it's been excised and given to traffic radar is that it's USELESS in the rain.

    Something else to loctite...

SO, on the last leg of an overnighter, the wife & I are having an ice cream in Santa Clarita, when I notice an open hole where one of the bolts attaching the front fender should be... I check the other side, and that one is gone too...(both front bolts missing). The right rear bolt is somewhat...

Handle bars feel more buzzy after weight install

The heavier weights may be making the bars vibrate at the same resonant frequency as the engine, causing the bars to buzz more rather than less. Everything structural between the engine and the bars is a factor, and it could be that your choice of risers & bar ends are a bad combination. Other...

    Throttlemeister

I don't go from full-off to full-lock. I turn it enough to get the throttle to drag (but too loose to leave my hand off for long), fine-tune the speed, then lock it down the rest of the way. It takes some getting used to, especially with winter gloves.

    New 2008 in dealer showroom

Reminds me of dealers in the 80's...if a model was popular you'd be happy to GET it for list...

    WTB: Stock bar end weights

I bought my TM secondhand and didn't get the removal tool, I absolutely DESTROYED the stock inserts getting them out. I damn near ruined the freaking handlebars.

    Finally gone

My first new bike was an '82 750 Seca. I ~loved~ that thing. It never let me down or left me stranded, and I'd buy another one as a runaround bike if I weren't spoiled by fuel injection.

    Buying a 07FJR Tommorrow

I say tires. You're looking at the front because the bike isn't falling in, but a worn rear can cause this. The previous owner says he isn't an agressive rider, and he could have worn the center of the rear tire down to the point that the contact patch is no longer rounded.

    2009 FJR

IIRC, you'd still have to pay the CA sales tax when you register it, unless it has 7,500 miles on it already. The sales tax, registration fees, and cost of shipping the bike cross-country would probably negate the OTD savings of a D&H purchase. Probably wouldn't make you a preferred customer...

    Reverse Trike

NOW I see. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why you were extending it so far forward. I thought you were doing something along the lines of a Can-Am Spyder. How are you going to get air to the radiator?

    Removing duct tape residue

I've never had to remove duct tape residue, but kerosene works wonders. It also has a very high flashpoint compared to other solvents, so you don't have to keep re-applying to stay ahead of evaporation.

Considering a used 2008 FJR1300AE -- need help with issues?

PFFFT...You can probably find a NEW one WITH warranty for that. Your dealer is out of his mind, or thinks you're an idiot.

Heli Group Buy Is A Go!!!

The Heli riser definitely fixes the odd angle that the stock risers induce. I can ride with the grips straight across my hand, instead of the diagonal position from the outside base of the palm toward the bottom of the index finger. It doesn't hurt that the Heli riser is a piece of machined...
