    Ticker Fear

I have just passed 14K on my 05 model. I got it in may 05, so It is now 3 years old. I have 2 more years on my extended warranty and I will probably not have more than 22K when it expires. Have the ticker problems been bad on the last 05's delivered? Does anyone have a reasonably accurate guess...

    Water problem

My mistake. I should have known better. Being as this is an FJR site, I thought I'd toss in something about motorcycles. Guess I'll just search the web for info on water conditioners. Have a great day, JPD

    Water problem

I need to be sure I'm putting good clean water into my FJR1300 and I have a hard water issue. I don't like the salt eating water softeners and I'm hoping someone that reads this has had experience with an electronic water conditioner similar to the one sold at FREIJE.COM or DDCHEM.COM. The one...

    Headlight modulator

It was a 10-15 minute job to install the Comagination modulator on my 2005 FJR. Getting to the connections is not difficult unless you have oversized hands. It's plug n play, no special wiring.

    Tire plugs

Thanks for the info. I am now more comfortable with the plug. Sorry Ignacio, I just used the words tire and plug w/o a + sign. I just read the search instructions. Will try to do better next time. :( Have a great day.

    Tire plugs

I'm sure this has been hashed and rehashed on this forum, but I can't find it. My new rear Pilot Road (600mi) picked up a small sharp rock and went flat. I called 4 cycle shops who, without looking at the tire, say it must be replaced. I have a friend who repairs tires and claims plugs are very...

    Tires and mileage

Possibly I made the mistake of assuming that the Yamaha dealer would air the tires properly when I took the wheels to him to swap the tires for me. I just now checked them. The rear was at 37psi and the front was at 27psi. Maybe that's the problem. They are now at 42psi. OBTW, I pulled the...

    Tires and mileage

I have calculated the mileage on almost every tank of gas since owning my 2005. It has always been between 44mpg and 52mpg depending on the type of roads and speed. I fill at the same station, same pump, and to the same level in my tank every time I check it. At 10,500 I replaced my Metzeler...

    Drive Shaft Question

UPS just dropped off a new set of Michelin PR's on my porch. I will take the advice given here and pull my pumpkin (that just don't sound right) while my wheels are off. I ran across some SUPER-TECH Moly-Lithium Extreme Pressure Grease in my garage. It says it is for automotive gears, U-joints...

    Another tire question

Any opinions on Michelin Pilot Power tires. The dealer nearest me has a special on them right now. Maybe that should tell me something.

    Plug Question

Thanks TWN, I knew you'd be there for me.....

    Plug Question

I am prepared to accept abuse. I just got off my 05. It has 10,043 miles on it. It still has a bit of tread on the original Metzlers. Yeah, I know, I am not riding it right. (yes, I have feathers) I did buy some NGK Iridium plugs at 8000 miles. They are still in the box. Is there really any...

Do folks that bought an 06 to replace their 04 or 05 like them better?

Where did you get the buzzer, will it work on the 05, and how much trouble was it to install???

    Sad morning in my garage

I love a story with a great ending. :yahoo: I just hope I can find a "Turboduck" in the Hill Country area of Texas to handle my maintenance.

    FJR1300 vs V-Rod

    I don't know how Cycle World's reliability is, but according to the 11/04 issue 0-60_____ V-rod 3.6 secs.-----------------------------FJR 2.8 secs. 1/4 mile_____ V-rod 11.86 secs@ 115.19mph---- FJR 10.97secs@ 123.08mph Top Speed_____ V-Rod 131mph----------------------FJR 154mph

    Loose exhaust screws

I sold a Suzuki 1400 Intruder when I got my FJR. The bolts that held the exhaust pipes to the block had to be tightened about every 4000-5000 miles. That never happened on any Hondas I owned. Has anyone had to tighten the exhaust bolts on the FJR? I don't want to take it apart to check them if I...

    Motovation sliders

If you look at that link it says you need a 12mm allen wrench and a 14mm box end wrench. Neither are needed for this farkle. You need a 10mm allen to install the brackets and an 8mm to put on the sliders. I loosened the bolts with a torque wrench and all four broke loose at 28-30 ft-lbs. When I...
