Well I upgraded to V5.0 from 4.3 today but no joy. It would not pair with my Zumo 550. It did pair with my wife's SMH10 thru intercom, did pair with my iPod no trouble, but not the Zumo. It would say phone connected for a millisecond then say phone disconnected. I even tried multipoint pairing...

Perhaps not the coil then. Are you running any LED lights on your bike. The unit doesn't like LEDs. If you are, they need to have a resistor added.

Check your coil connection or wherever your taking the tachometer signal from. If not correct, like a reversed ground, the unit won't be receiving a signal to base it's rpm reference.

I just had my panels off and given it's a silver screw and not a black bolt, I'd say it goes in far front under the cowling to hold the front of the panel in. The cowling must be off to see it.
