New Guy - Orange County NY

Welcome, your bike history sounds very similar to mine. I bought a 2005 new and never have been happier with a bike. I am originally from Charlton New York in Saratoga County and we called this "Up State." Now I am a Minnesota resident. You are going to like the FJR.

    Thousand mile day.

The amount of bugs collected on the windshield and headlight is a good measure of a long ride!

    FJR Age Limit

I have a 2005 and to me and it is still new. I have been asked why I don't get a newer one and after setting the bike up with a custom seat, bar risers, and a bunch of other farkels, the bike is how I like it. A couple of years ago I have it serviced and my hope is that it will continue to be...

    hello from Springhill fl.

Mark, Welcome to the forum. I have a 2005 FJR which I bought new. I have been riding a motorcycle since about 12 years old (I am 71 years old now) and it is the best bike I have ever had. It is relatively easy to work on and the best thing to do is to keep up with routine maintenance. Using...

    Hello from Minnesota

Welcome to the forum. I ride a 2005 FJR and every year I go to the International BMW rally. This coming year it is being held in Richmond Virginia. The BMW rally is a good rally for those of us who like sport touring and the FJR is very well accepted at the BMW rally. You won't regret the FJR!

    Thousand mile day.

I have completed 1000 miles in less than 24 hours three times and one time I did register the ride with the Iron Butt Association. Now. that I am retired I tend to stay off the interstate and take my time. Here are a few things that I recommend: Drink lots of water and make sure that the...

Welcome to the forum. To put the bike up on the center stand to check the oil level, cooling fluid, etc. place a 2x6 or 8 which has been cut at a 45 at one end, in front of the rear tire. You roll the bike up onto the 2x6 and it is easy to then lift the bike to put down the center stand.
