Who says all cops are bad

Cool story... I am curious though - - do y'all ride on the right or left side of the bike down under?

    Beyond the FJR...

You hit on a good point... the stock 4.2 gallon tank is on the small size, even in this class. But I won't whine, the Big Dog chopper hits the scales at about 3.2 gallons. And Yammy offers a couple different "comfort" seat setups, and the backrest stuff - sadly, they're mimmicking the other...

    Beyond the FJR...

I looked seriously at the Wing prior to picking up the FJR. Love that motor! Smooth, powerful, quiet. Then I test rode one.. way too heavy and I felt cramped/locked in (I'm 6'2"). Just too intimidated by the heft. The Raider is no true "light-weight", but it's so dang well balanced it's...

    Beyond the FJR...

My new ride's still sitting at the dealer.. hope to get her home Tuesday, weather permitting. But here's a pic of her, taken today.

The wheel diameter and the low profile add to that impression; That's a 210 radial Metzler out back, plenty of beef when viewed from the rear.

You want to put in an early bid..? <_<

    Beyond the FJR...

Yes toecutter, that's the bike. The one you posted is the "base" model - lots of black parts. The one I purchased is the "S" version - same bike just lots more shiny stuff. Lennie

    Beyond the FJR...

Shiny, I'll give you an update once I've put some miles on the new bike. I've ridden it just the once but did do some figure 8s in the college parking lot. It handled very well, especially considering both the 40 degrees of rake and the 210 rear tire. Prior to the FJR I had the 07 Softail...

    Beyond the FJR...

Thanks, Shiny. I rode her last week.. it does rumble. And handles and rides sweet.

    Beyond the FJR...

Thanks, Stan. I really enjoyed the FJR.. except my neck began aching (helmet strap pressure, etc) after an hour or so. Always rode cruisers and I decided not to make extensive mods to the FJR to get it to "fit me". FJR is a fine machine.. but guess I'm just an old fella that loves a set of...

2007 Altitude Surging Problem - Members Wanted

I'll just be damn glad when this topic dies a natural death... and everything's all fixed.

2007 Altitude Surging Problem - Members Wanted

...How do you squeeze "YEARS" into or between 2004 and 2005? And the '07 FJR has been in the market for about a year now, correct? ...Just wondering.

    Altitude surging on 07 fix

Had my dealer search for a Service Bulletin on this issue... NONE! WTF? Is this something that requires the damn dealer CALL Yamaha to get a part, then make the fix?? What a way to run a business... customer satisfaction doesn't seem to matter to them. Think I may just go back to Harley.

2007 Altitude Surging Problem - Members Wanted

I had my dealer search for Service Bulletins... NONE from Yamaha. Guess you gotta lodge a complaint, then force them to PHONE the damn outfit. Odd huh?

FJR not what is cracked up to be

Heet, I'm really sorry to hear all that... simply sucks the big one. I can appreciate your frustration, anger. Makes me mad to simply read about it. Lotta other makers and bikes out there, you'll find one that fills your needs. Again, sorry you had to be tortured. Lennie

    Altitude surging on 07 fix

Actually, I sold an 07 Softail Custom to buy the FJR... had no probs with it. Some of the touring models had an issue with heat, but it's been resolved with a reflash of the ECM.

    Altitude surging on 07 fix

"My baro pressure sensor is on the verge of blowing"... lol My input... FIX THE MOTHER, period. Better yet, think I'll go back to Harley... never had any problems with that bike.

    Altitude surging on 07 fix

If Yama only goes part way and the problem remains, gonna be a pretty big loss of business, and a whole bunch of used FJRs on the used bike lots.

    Altitude surging on 07 fix

I don't wanna throw water on all the technical discussion (I'm lucky to put the right shoe on the correct foot), my primary and only concern at this point is that Yamaha FIX the freakin' problem. Now, back to the techie folks :dribble:
