    FJR - 1, Forest Rat - ?

    This past Sunday we were shooting on a range at the 600 yard marker with a 30.06. We would shoot a few shots, then drive up to the targets with the truck. About 3 different times we had deer cross the range, so sound doesn't really scare 'em, even if they hear the whistles.

    Thats exactly how I used to set the timing on my 65 Corvette back in the day........rotate the distributor until it pinged under load, then back it off until it didn't.

    Sully, thanks for the input. I own an '04 FZ1 now... (exactly like the '03 except for decals and color choice). You are correct. The "fun factor" is definitely there with the FZ1. I have textile saddlebags for it, and a tank bag. Your statement is definitely my dilemma. I may just stay...

    I am considering an FJR, and a large part of that consideration is a more relaxed rider position to accommodate the old knees (32" inseam) and 200 mile days. I currently own an "04 FZ1 which puts the legs back a bit (not as much as a pure sportbike). I would be hoping for a more forward leg...
