Blast from the Past: Hydration Systems

Funny, the base looks suspiciously like the set up that I got from somewhere... maybe it was a skyway? Used to have a coleman 1/2 gallon cooler in a black nylon case buckled to the base.  Mine now holds an artic 1 gallon which fits the base perfectly.

    2016 Steering Problems

I struggled with my steering when I went from stock to tapered as well. I actually found more is worse with the tapered. I keep mine now at the stock torque settings, and its a pretty darn low number. I'm thinking about going a pound or two less when I take the steering head apart again.  When...

    LS2 Valiant 2

This was my question as well. The helmet specific version seems to use older software and not the latest and greatest.  Plus rumor has it the LS version is more oval and less round than the shark.

    2004 FJR Engine heat

I went from a Connie to the 2004 FJR. I'm still trying to figure out what heat? I always ride in pants, and I've never noticed it.  I did however love that the bodywork was much easier to take on and off, and more sturdy, and the fuel injection over the carbs, plus the electric windshield...

    Tale of the Dragon?

I actually like MR. They've been pretty good with me... although, I'm not sure I've ever used their service department.  I'm glad you guys were able to finish the trip. The dealer is an ok stop.. the hospital, not so much :)

    FJR and motoport jackets

Shaped funny isn't the term I would use... but hey... if it fits it fits! I have a 3/4 jacked now that I got from Big John :)  that was a temporary jacket that I got a few years ago. Now I'm working on the motoport to match my pants.

    FJR and motoport jackets

Hey All,    Question for the masses. I'm thinking of getting a Motoport Marathon Jacket. Does the longer length get bunched up by the gas tank? or does it lie pretty much where it should? Debating if its too long vs the shorter waist length jackets that they have.

Dan, I'm just north of Asheville in Leicester. Let me know if you need anything. Decent set of tools, tire changer, flat space for a tent...

    Tale of the Dragon?

Restaurants are mostly open.  Not sure about lodging.  That's a tougher issue right now. I was out in Bryson city last weekend and it was mostly business as normal with face masks

Gen I Items - All Sold

I can attest to the RDL that he has.. I was at least the 3rd owner.. the one before him. I had it on for 1000 miles and hated it...

    FJR mechanic-Long Island NY

For suspension I'm not really sure. If you go to the 7-11 on William floyd just south of the LIE and ask for catfish. He has an FJR and hes knowledgable on a guy or two for your friends needs.

How Many Miles Did You Ride In 2019?

Disappointingly this year, was my worst since I started riding.  I'm in the east coast mecca of motorcycle roads, yet I can't manage to make enough time to get anything useful done. This is the first year where a set of tires has lasted me more than a season. If it wasn't for the winter, I'm not...
