Best riding weather for ID, WY, and MT

July will be your driest and hottest month, but Wyoming cools down at night due to the elevation. I live in the Denver area, and some years there is monsoon rain in July and August, other years it's dry. September is dry, but in Wyoming it could snow even early in the month. The biggest thing...

    2016 FJR 1300 ES F/S (SOLD)

The seat is outstanding on the 2019 Versys 1000. Obviously a subjective thing and I had no problem with the stock seat on the 2014 FJR. I think the V1000 is a bit more comfy and has that nice ridge between the rider and passenger that offers nice support.

    2016 FJR 1300 ES F/S (SOLD)

NorthSouth, I came from a 2014 FJRA and bought the 2019 Versys 1000. If you are only looking at pictures, go see the bike in person. I also thought about the Tracer 900, but the Versys is a better bike if you can negotiate a deal for one that is still on the floor. A bit more weight than the...

    Cruise control flashing

Sgoat, What was the cost for that service, and did you sell your 14 and replace with R1200 RS? Thanks,

Cruise control doesn't engage all the time

I have a 2014 and sometimes when I hit the cruise control button it will blink and therefore not set the cruise. If I stop and turn off the engine and restart, it will usually work. Now I usually engage the cruise button right after I start the engine and take off from there. If I engage the set...

FJR Has Gotten Too Heavy. What To Buy?

I've also been thinking about lighter machines, but the problem is that the FJR is so good all around, that stepping down in weight can also be a disadvantage. That's why I have and inexpensive Ninja 500R and a Versys x. Both are light and fun and totally different from the FJR. After riding...

    Those Who Wait

Well done. That ride report could go in a magazine, pictures and all. I was able to ride this weekend also as the weather has been nice in the Denver area. I did not take on the size of home project you did, but checked off a good list of items like a new garbage disposal, address plate for the...

    Trunk, backrest, or bare?

Agree with Bobduster225 and hey, we have the same ride. I Just installed the SHAD 33 and like the smaller, but still useful size. I also like the idea of 4 configurations depending upon the ride. 0 bags, just the side cases, just the top case (Convenient) and all three cases combined. The matte...

    2016 YZF-R 3

I have an 07 Ninja 500R that fits the same purpose, fun and light with enough power as an option to the FJR. Having both bikes make me appreciation the different fun factor that each provides.

    How to use centerstand

Let's not forget that taking the weight off the rear tire during winter months or during long periods between rides keeps the tire nice and round. It also significantly reduces the weight on the front tire at the same time. I always park the bike on the center stand in my garage.

2016 Is Official 6-spd, Slipper, LEDs, Analog Tach, Price

AdamK I'm getting 55 MPG with my 14A in the Colorado area, front range and the mountains. I think the altitude makes for a leaner burn and it is truly amazing the 300 mile range of this bike. My ST1300, previous to the FJR also did 53-55 MPG, so I was really happy that the FJR does that well...

    Penco Power Products, Kalispell, MT

I think I passed that dealership when I was in Kalispell, HWY 93 on 6/9 on way to Glacier National Park with my wife. Wish I was on the FJR, which would have been nice as weather was perfect. I was on the back end of a business trip, so not all bad, and driving a new Chrysler 300S rental car...

    Getting to know my FJR

I agree with the idea to keep everything as is for a while and get comfortable with the bike. There is nothing better than stock if you can keep it that way. I like the stock seat and think it is way better then average. Butt it is your ass!

Michelin Pilot Road 4 - GT version?

I bought the standard PR4 for my 14A, and it is correct that the GT is noted specifically for the FJR and other ST bikes. The ST 1300 with the 18' front can only get the GT4 as the standard is not offered in that size. I really like the feel of the Michelins on my FJR and they provide more...

    Seat height and handling

I'm 6' tall with a 32" inseam and started out on the factory lower position, but also found out that the taller position is most comfortable, and easier on the knees. I do like being up a bit higher, but that means the wind shield has to go all the way up to avoid buffeting. I like the looks of...

    Centennial, CO, Performance Cycle

Agree, I shopped their old store at Broadway and Evans, same great service there as at the new store note above that is now closer to me. It is a unique store for our riding group, and if you need to try on the apparel, they have it available and priced right.

    A Ride to Westcliffe, CO

Got to love living in this great state BobCo. I'll be heading down your way this summer from Parker. The entire front range offers so many great rides.

2016 Is Official 6-spd, Slipper, LEDs, Analog Tach, Price

This is my first post, so here it goes. The boot covers, cover that beautiful motor and that is why they are an option. I moved from an ST 1300 that had a completely enclosed motor, except the plastic valve covers. That open area on the FJR actually shows most of that 1300 work of art, and it...
