Should I do the Ivan re-flash or go in for the second recall

I have a 2016ES that I bought brand new. Health issues have kept me from riding much. I have 2k miles on it. I had the tranny recall done almost immediately. Now I’m sitting with the additional ECU recall. I’m just thinking of sending Ivan the EXU and have him flash it. What are your thoughts?

FJRF014 - Brake Light Switch (CA, UK, & US) (2013-2020)

I have owned my 2016 ES since new. I wa# never notified that there was a side stand recall but when I put my VIN in at Yamaha it showed as there but not done yet. I’m sure they won’t notify anyone in the USA until next week but, since I never got the first recall how can I trust Yamaha to notify...

    Scotch or Bourbon?

Scotch all the way. Bourbon is to sweet for my tastes.

Did anyone else order a Sargent seat during President’s day sale?

Yes. That is how I learned that a part was backordered. Their communication has been less than stellar

Did anyone else order a Sargent seat during President’s day sale?

I ordered one for my 3rd gen and got confirmation. Tomorrow is April 1st and still no seat. That is 6 weeks. Was told there was a backordered part. Just wondering if Im the only one.

    ES Suspension

Since the ES is so easily adjusted I would think my suspension was getting tired if I found myself adjusting it more often or much stiffer more often. Mine will probably never wear out with the amount of miles I’m able to put on it. To little time unfortunately.

Reduce the Grand Staircase of Utah?

I think that there is no need for this. Simply one of the main st unique and beautiful parts of the country. Once spoiled, forever spoiled

New used bike, module under rear seat, what is it?

It is a wired intercom. They were great in their day but so were cassettes. Just go Bluetooth

Just picked up my birthday surprise.....2017 ES!

You will enjoy it. I was also surprised at the tool kit but the positive me said " I guess they don't expect much to go wrong"

    Front fork rebuild

Forks are actually not that hard but you need the right tools. Without them you are just wasting your time. I used to rebuild the forks on my racing bikes a few times a year. There are videos you can watch and is well worth taking the time to learn. My local shop was charging 500 + to do forks.

    2014 horn

I put the 400& 500hz on my 2016 yesterday. What a difference. One of the easiest upgrades I've ever done to a bike.

    Engine and Luggage Guards?

I put tree bag guards on and like them a lot. I will opt for frame sliders in the front. If I really feel the need for a cage I'll drive my car

How to add RAM stem mount to 2017 FJR

I put one on my 2016 Es almost immediately. Time to get a new dealer

    My 2016 ES rattles also.

    ES VS A

I can't imagine riding an Fjr hard enough to induce fork flex. You have really got to be loading up that front tire to get it to flex. I think most wobble is attributable to forks that need maintenance or bad REAR shock. That's right I said rear shick.

    Front vs Rear Tire Wear

You are correct on the front chicken strips. You really have to be pushing the front and trail braking to lose those and that type of riding should not be done on the street.
