1300AE Fast idle, shift error code SH__48, intake clean and recondition, bench testing wax motor (gen 1, gen 2 relevant)

Excellent I’ll keep that in mind for if my 2007 AE decides to give problems. Up to now it’s been good without any auto-clutch issues, love the bike and helps when you have arthritis in your hands.

    Motorcycle For Sale SOLD..............2009 FJR1300AE $6000-near Dallas

Good luck with the sale, I'm thinking of selling my 2007 AE LOVE IT! Will be putting it up in the spring after my last few months riding it before the cold sets in up here, then look for one just like yours one owner with less miles on than mine. I too love the auto clutch saves my arthritic...

NW US, SW BC adventure to begin

Good luck, hope all goes well for what sounds a great adventure on the FJRs. How long do you think it'll take? Mike S.

    helmet speakers

Hi, I've used Bose sound cancelling ear plugs(wired type. They are really good but a little awkward to put on my helmet but for long day rides it's great one charge is good for a long 8 or 9 hours with music playing As well. Still can hear slight background noise but I've found them the best...

    hi from pa

Hi, I use Bosch noise canceling ear pods with my Apple phone playing tunes or GPS instructions. I find it good to remove wind noise and fit good under the full faced helmet, only down side is they are expensive!

    hi from pa

I'm sure you'll enjoy the FJR it's a great bike for long haul rides and I find without the side boxes on it's not too bad around town and short distance hops.

    hi from pa

Hi, are you going to keep the VFR800 when you move over to a FJR. At 75 yr old I'm thinking of easing off long rides and just ride shorter trips and thought I'd like a VFR. My 2007 FJR is the one with auto clutch with electronic shift (like a paddle shift on a sports car) I love this feature as...

    FJR Forum Decal design

I think it would look better without the top box and maybe a different colour.

    Question for AE Owners

Hi, as most riders of the AE model have the same issue at slow speed "U turns" . I after many years of riding my 2007 AE find with feathering the rear break pedal it's controllable. It's a minor problem as once you've got over how it reacts you accept that it's an issue and adjust to it! All its...

    FJR AE OWNERS

Like the idea of an "AE" group. Got mine about 7 years ago and was due to me having arthritis in my left hand so needed the automatic clutch. Had a Honda ST1300 but was getting more difficult to run long trips, found a low mileage AE and loved it since then. Added a round plastic piece on the...

SW Colorado with my nephew part 3

Looks like you had a great trip, thanks for sharing, I did a ride out west last year and found I loved the Wyoming mountains and the Teton National Forest area. It didn't look like your ride, think I'll be heading for Colorado next. Mike S.

    New member from the UK

Welcome to the FJR group, I also have a FJR1300AE, a 2007 model but it has an automatic clutch and the electronic shift gearbox. guess they must have different models over in the UK. Looks like a great looking bike from your pictures, a nice blue colour, mine came in a silver colour think they...

    Fork rebuild

Hi, I've used those fork seal "thin plastic" cleaning tools on my old ST1300 and it cured my leaking left side fork seals. Road it for many years after and didn't see any more leaks! Was worth the $5.00 and wasn't that difficult to do, I'd use it again on my FJR but can't find it anywhere!

    Greetings from Liverpool U.K.

Hi Chris, looks like you got a deal I'm sure you'll enjoy it, love the colour my 2007 is just a silver grey as it was the "AE" version with auto clutch. I used to live in Southport back many years ago, now in Canada. Last June I rode out west to Vancouver, it was about a 3,000 mile ride in...

Coast to coast to coast, Part II

Hi after reading your descriptions of your trip both out west and back are great. I recently (in June 2022) left from my home near Niagara Falls and headed down to the crossing to Buffalo then west on 90. By the time I reached Erie the heavens opened up and spent the next two days in cold rainy...

    Battery replacement

Hi, I have a six year old Shorai that starts my FJR-AE easily through our riding season and had no issues at all. I normally put the bike to sleep at the beginning of December and don't do anything special like removing the batter, it's just has a motorcycle cover over the bike. Normally give it...

Need a front wheel in Canada!

Thanks MotoMike, I'll contacted a few rim repair places but all but one just do car and truck rims, no motorcycles! I've had help from a fellow on the site been over to his place and he has a balance set up better than what I used, so going back to see him when I get the wheel off again. If that...

Need a front wheel in Canada!

hi John D, thanks for your response to my posting. I'm finding the balancing that I did when I got home seems to be acceptable for running short trips so have backed off tryi to get a replacement for now. I went up to see Ray (he had replied to my posting and lived fairly close by) he has a...
