Yamaha only uses one side of the key in all their locks/ignition. So you can replace the switch and have a key cut with one side your old key and the other the new switch. Turn the key one way to put it in the ignition and the other for everything else.

To the best of my knowledge the rear shocks are interchangeable for all non-e models. I plan on using the wilburs  off my 04 when the stock on my 15 goes out. Probably ought to get it serviced while I don't need it, but it'll probably be a last second kind of deal as usual.

I'd thought about this years ago, but had already drilled my '04 tank. Haven't done the '15 yet, and this might be the way to go. Any thoughts on how the old problem solved by a "ballectomy" (tank over pressurizing) might be affected by this?

How about you loosen the triple clamps and slide the forks up a bit, then slide them back when you take it out? Might get you an inch or three.
