The Batteries Plus guy didn't specify which type of float/trickle charger but that the battery needed to experience some discharge/charge cycling.

I can't imagine getting 12 yrs out of battery! Having said that...I was told not to leave a battery on a trickle charger for long periods of time (i.e. all winter). They have to go thru discharge/charge cycles by design.

I recently dealt with a starting issue on my 2010 that reminded me of the "fast starter syndrome" that has been discussed at length. After a long winter's nap on a trickle charger I could turn it over but wouldn't start. It would crank until the battery was low. A recharge of the battery...

Following up on my TPS replacement (big thx again to Kelvin). So far throttle response is good since the swapping but admittedly I haven't ridden it long enough to manifest/replicate the problem. Still waiting for a long ride to test it.

Gotcha. But first things first. My rear tire wore down to the belts on my last ride thru Lolo Pass in MT. I picked up a pair of Pirelli Angel ST with 2022 date codes to mount this week. Great price on a discontinued tire.

Following up on my original post... I ran diagnostics on the original unit and then on the known-good, used TPS from Kelvin. Original TPS: d:01 16 ----> 99 Replacement TPS: d:01 15 ----> 101 Do I need to rotate it so it reads 100?

That's the thing...it's very repeatable at lower RPMs. But I feel plenty of power cruising above it and pressing it while in the twisties.

Selling some cold weather riding gear that were given to me and aren't my size. Both size XL (46) jacket and XXL (38-40) pants were only used once on a week long ride it AZ and are like new. Both have removable rain and quilted liners. It's just in time for some comfortable cold weather...

No rubber web thingy at the time. I put my trust in the rubber posts since the thingy didn't originally come with my X-grip. Yea...I contact OB and offered to be their poster child for the Defender cover. They appreciated the gesture and then sent me a replacement free.

I had my Samsung S7 launch from my X-grip at highway speeds. The OtterBox case saved it from oblivion. Yes, I'm now a life long convert to OB. I learned later that's why the rubber web thingy was included with later models. Hard lesson.

I just rode thru the canyonlands of southern UT in May and my suggestion is to do it as early in the month as possible. The temps were already in the 80s the 2nd week of May. I can only imagine what June would be like.
