New tires on the FJR. Replaced Dunlop Mutants with Shinko 016 Verge 2X tires. They are dual compound that Shinko claims good mileage and grip. We shall see. The Mutants went about 6500 miles and still had tread but rear was squared off and front was cupping.

No top case!

Get the Gen 3. Don't sweat the tranny recall.

I wouldn't worry a bit. I've put 6000 miles on my 16 since the trans recall work. Perfectly fine.

Check your local O'Reilly or AutoZone. They probably have an AGM battery and will check your old one. Be sure to compare the physical size of the new one vs. the old one. They are a tight fit. You'll be back on the road in no time.
