    Left fairing removal advice

Not yet. I'm going to get the parts on order first. The takedown of the fairing is more involved than I expected. I don't want to pull the bike apart for a couple more weeks. I still have a couple more ridable weeks before temps get to the point where I will start my long term winter repairs.

    Left fairing removal advice

Yes and No. There is a steel loop, the nut is supposed to be under the loop to secure it it's under the steel band. So it's not actually attached to anything as far as I can tell. I'm going to order in the new fairing prices tomorrow and once they arrive I will pull the entire fairing off...

    Left fairing removal advice

I am going to try this tomorrow. I spent today putting the farkles on my 15 Honda 250L. It's all done and I'm happy with it now. I can start tearing apart the FJR again tomorrow.

The black screw in the photo here, it's on the left side of the fairing. Towards the rider.

    Left fairing removal advice

So still stuck. I can't remove the back bolt on the left hand side of the inner fairing that surrounds the back charge pocket. Should I just use cutters and cut away and replace the plastic at this point? The bolt is just free spinning and the nut is stuck on the back, probably broken free...

Hello, Getting ready to fix some issues on my 2010 that the PO created before I bought it. I am trying to remove the "UPPER FRONT COWLING ASSY 1" however the that is on the black panel the power socket sits in just free spins. I've tried applying pressure under the screw head in order to try...

Aluminum Grab bars Gen 2 (2010)

I don't know if the givi would work with my pirates lair backrest mount. I saw someone else using pirates lair backrest with an aluminum rail on a gen 3 with the PL backrest and a shad topcase. I just need a place to shore my waterproof liners and misc stuff. The side cases will be used for...

Aluminum Grab bars Gen 2 (2010)

Sweeeeeet! Thank you! I will get one ordered. What is the recommended rear weight limit when using the Yamaha aluminum grab handle without/without a stiffy kit? I'm thinking of going with the Shad rear case as it was noted to me that it works with a pirate lair backrest. Jeff

Aluminum Grab bars Gen 2 (2010)

Hello, I was looking to install the aluminum grab rail set. Yamahas website only lists these for 2013 and newer boxes. Are these not compatible with the 2010 (gen 2?) I assume the old plastic one has just the two mounting points where the new one is mounted to the rail where the passenger...

New FJR rider as of today

OK, i got the ABS jumpered and ran the ABS flush test cycle. The plug is in the same place over the battery, but the panel is easier to get off the bike, but the plug itself it harder to reach. I will reflush the brakes in about 2 weeks when i get back from another trip. @ERS how does the...

    Have backrest, what bag options?

Is the Yamaha aluminum handle compatible with the 2010? The website just lists it for 2013+. Did you drill into the aluminum handle to mount the base? The instructions made me think they had their own bracket.

Yes, the backrest is a pirates lair, the seat is definitely stock.

    Have backrest, what bag options?

I'd love to see the pics! This sounds like the ideal setup for my needs. I see the install calls for standoffs, did you just use the pirates lair bracket in lieu of the standoffs?

New FJR rider as of today

Thanks! Are the plugs for the ABS in the same location on the 2013 and later models? Just under the dash cluster on the right hand side?
