    Sargent seat

There is about 100k on the Sargent seat I put on my VFR and it has not degraded. Granted, that was in 2000 ... in 14 years I suppose they could have changed from using the "atomic superfoam" or whatever. While there's nothing wrong with the foam, I'm definitely squirming on that seat after...

Features to Look for in your Next Pair of Gloves

I'm using a pair of Held Rodney's. Fully perfed kangaroo leather and outseam stiching, no hard parts. Some SuperFabric, a wiper, medium cuff and only one velcro adjuster. Comes in black or tan. I think these are my favorite gloves so far, in terms of airflow/comfort/protection/control tradeoff's.

    Sena 20s Day

THAT is something that gets me excited enough to save up for a 20S. I was hoping that they would have added that to the SMH10-B when they implemented side-tone but they didn't. Can anyone with a 20S comment on speaker quality and volume vs. the SMH10B?

    Air Compressor hookup to bike

I rewired my cig lighter direct to the battery with a bigger gauge and a 20am fuse, expressly for the purpose of running a compressor. Also lets me charge things in the glove box overnight.

    Laam seats

In defense of Seth ... I think I know where he's at. He has a skill that can't be passed on to someone else easily, so he is the bottleneck in the pipeline. I can relate ... I am responsible for four software toolkits, and am the sole developer. We ended up hiring support staff to take care of...

knowing what i know about gear Now, I would get this instead:

If they are that loose, will the knee armor stay put if you crash? Heck, will the pants even stay on?

knowing what i know about gear Now, I would get this instead:

Get a beaded seat cover. Water will drain away from you instead of pooling up around your butt.

    laminar lip or cee baily

Try the spacers; that made the most difference for me. Other than buying a Ninja, that is.

knowing what i know about gear Now, I would get this instead:

So far, when touring I've used my stich with all vents opened and compression gear underneath. I will sweat, but it's manageable and I drink lots of water to hydrate, from a camelbak. I add electrolytes to the camelbak and drink about 1/2 gallon per hour. This isn't too bad when I'm in the...

Where to buy a YA707 Ohlins?

I have one for sale! https://www.sport-touring.net/forums/index.php/topic,92890.0.html#.U5-M4vGBXmE EDIT: Since these are selling for about $1000 (i.e. much less than the $1300 MSRP) I am willing to listen to offers.

    Factory sidecases...worth it?

I have the utmost respect for anyone who manages to go two-up and camping on a bike.

    Factory sidecases...worth it?

Having with soft cases and factory cases, the factory cases win hand down despite the inefficient use of space. They tuck in nicely, come on/off easy, look good, are lockable and waterproof. My main complaint is that they open and all the junk falls out, so I use the liners.

    Sena SMH10 Firmware 5.0 - Universal Intercom

How are you pairing? Voice only, media-only, or both?

    Sena SMH10 Firmware 5.0 - Universal Intercom

Supposedly, the Sena has separate volumes for each input source; when you turn the wheel it is *supposed* to adjust the current source volume. I've had mixed luck with this, and just adjust down the volume from the GPS itself. Or turn off navigation prompts entirely. Which GPS are you using...

Fleece seat cover or Bead Rider?

Beadrider. All year. Really like the airflow and how water just drains away instead of pooling and seeping in. I put it on the stock seat and that makes it comfy for saddlesores.

Well, the Gen III OEM Sliders Work...

I took the Civilian Motorcycle Police course I took two years ago we did a maneuver that did: 1. Steady 45 mph 2. Emergency stop, NO feet down 3. 90 degree tight right 4. 90 degree tight left 5. A variety of 180 and 90 degree turns The idea was to simulate traffic (1) that suddenly stops...

    New Garmin Zumo... 590LM

Yeah, it's a price point. Just like cheap laptops cost about ~$350 ... technology gets cheaper but the laptop prices stay the same, they just pack more into them. Same with the GPS stuff. The pricing comes down to "what the market will bear". If it costs Garmin 50 cents to make a GPS that costs...

Yep. I got that all the time. That's why I switched to Basecamp.

    GP suspension in Portland, OR.

    BaseCamp "Find" feature

I have a suspicion that there may be a more fundamental issue you are experiencing, but let's try something simple first. Here's how I search for an address: In the upper right corner there's a search field. Put the address in there: Click on the blue hourglass, and you'll get a list of...
