Ice chest that fits well in side FJR bag?

+1.  Trust the Pie Man, he uses it to keep his Pies fresh! My suggestion is to fit a cooler to the rear rack.  This idea provides unlimited options.

    Aftermarket horn on a 2018

Relay - nah.  My 09 had two wires and I was able use the PIAA 400-500hz slimline sports horns without a relay.

    FZ1 mirrors?

Hi Oso, I think this thread answer your question.  In short OEM FZ1 mirrors don't need a coupler of some kind to work so I suspect the product from eBay is in a word "short". I moved my OEM mirrors from my 09 to my 17 this past week.

    Garage Door Opener

Here is an idea.  If the "glove box" is usually empty simply double back tape or double back velcro a garage door opener to the interior of the "glove box".  Easy, simply and on the bike always.

Looking for Suggestions for Bike Cover for FJR

I bought BILT Motorycle Cover at Cycle Gear for $29.95 currently on sale.  Works well and the stuff bag was large enough to easily for the cover - amazing.   Generally I avoid BILT but this time it worked out.

    Aftermarket horn on a 2018

I have the PIAA 400-500hz slimline sports horns.  Work great.  I created this plug in play cable to provide power to both horns.  Also used radiator shroud mount hole with a bushing to and longer screw to create space between the radiator and the horn.

    Garmin Zumo XT

I checked out the XT out on the Garmin product page.  It seems you don't need to create a route on a PC and transfer it.  Instead a route is created on the GPS - wonder how well that works?  I am not happy with my 590LM but it is better than a phone as the GPS is easier to see and is glove...

    Winter Gloves?

I have Rev'it! Stratos GTX Gloves.  On a recent ride to California I experience rain for 200 miles - they stayed dry.  Also experienced 34 degree temp and hand where warm without heated grips on.  Nice gloves but pricey but usually the good stuff is.

    Permanent oil drain valve

Let's see. It takes about 30 seconds to remove (perhaps I am slow) a FJR drain plug, works great, is solid and has nearly zero risk of being sheered off. I think I will stick with what works well.

    sena crap

From the Sena owner manual I found this: 4.5 Volume Adjustment You can easily adjust the volume by rotating the Jog Dial. You will hear a beep when the volume reaches maximum or minimum level. The volume is set and maintained independently at different levels for each audio source even when you...

    Motorcycle cover

I have a Nelson Rigg 1/2 cover in a XL size. It will not over a top box but will cover the panniers. Keeps the rain off and works great.

    Earplugs: just me?

I wear Moldex Pura-Fit 5800 27db, class 5 earplugs. The Boeing Company has these earplugs in the 737 Wing Manufacturing area and were a perk for employees for home use. The Wing line is a very loud environment. I have used these plugs while motorcycling for years. Cheap and disposable. I...

    seat material selection

I have had Russell saddles for years. I got the large squares with leather. I had vinyl but found leather helped keeping my arse cool on a hot day. Like Bounce I use Lexol. Be careful in selecting a good leather treatment product. I use Lexol once per year. I don't ride in rain very often...

    Need GPS to replace 2597LMT

Well at least you have a choice! How about a Garmin 276C. Big Dog uses these. I have no experience with them.

Replace my Zumo 550 with ?

I had a 550 for years. It died last year and it was time to move on so I got a 590. It took a while to warm up to it but it works great, actually better than the 550. A couple of weeks ago the 590 died, but Garmin will replace it for free and life goes on. I still have the 550 but it would...

Garmin 590LM Will Not Power Up

Contact Garmin. They offered me 20% off on a 595 or replace my 590 for free. You may get the 20% offer. GPS City has some good deals on GPS no longer sold by Garmin.

Garmin 590LM Will Not Power Up

Well I still have my 550. I think the screen digitizer died for the second time. Also the buttons are falling off. These are fixable problems so I will just keep it a while longer just in case this 590 thing does not work out.

Garmin 590LM Will Not Power Up

I bought a 590LM on the road during the Red Lodge event and with the help of friends installed it in Red Lodge. Yesterday after a voice and map update, I checked some settings then charged the battery and it failed to boot. The Garmin logo appeared then the unit would shut down. It did this...
