Mixing Michelin Road 6 GT and 4 GT?

There are a number of opinions re tyres on the internet, probably well over a billion (hence the jibes you received), so trying to find the correct answer is actually quite difficult. Having ridden motorcycles for a living (and for over 40 years for fun) when your income depends on things like...

Trunk lid retention mount broke, repair options or suggestions?

It happened to me in exactly the same place. I bonded and screwed a metal washer (with a bolt bolted to it) to the outer plastic broken bit. Not as clean as I would like but has been working OK for about a year. I'll try and take some photos...

    Anyone use tank bags?

SW-Motech Pro Tank Bag (https://sw-motech.co.uk/collections/pro-tank-bags/products/pro-micro-tank-bag-3-5-l) - requires a Pro Tank Ring on the filler cap. The bag doesn't touch the tank at all and is very easy to install. Mine has the Molle phone thingy which I usually use as a map pocket when...

    Gel in seats

Ah, if you're in the saddle for a long time, the standard one would be very slightly more comfortable.

    Gel in seats

You would probably benefit from the lowered gel seat especially if you want to have more of your foot on the ground, it depends on how often you put your foot down... Or, you can do like me, shift your body slightly to one side when you stop so you can "flat foot". I'm very happy with lowered...

    Gel in seats

How far from putting you foot flat on the ground are you? For me, with the lowered seat, the balls of my feet (while wearing moto boots) are on the ground. Your in-seam is the inside of your leg from the ground to your crotch.

    Gel in seats

The only "customisation" was the lowering on the FJR seat. The full name of the model is the Top Sellerie Deluxe Comfort Gel seat. I would think the standard height one would be OK for you. It depends on your leg length. If your in-seam is over 76 cm, then definitely the standard one. Can you...

    Gel in seats

I'm in France and have a Top Sellerie Gel seat on both my motos, an FJR and a Honda Deauville (NT700VA). I have had the seats for about 4 years. I have ridden on the seats in temperatures up to 40°C and down to 0°C (or just slightly below). I am 174cm with 74cm in-seam and a little over-weight...

    Shopping for Seats

It's not just the height of the seat but the width as well. If you can find a slightly narrower seat, you'll find you can reach the ground more easily.

    Seat options

So you add another $50 for the seat, another $300 for better suspension another $xx for this widget or that widget. Then you add on the various margins for the Importer and dealer, taxes etc. All of a sudden you've added serious money to the price of the motor vehicle. Much better to offer an...

I told that there is a "fix" for that. As I have the newer version I haven't investigated the "fix"

    helmet speakers

I have the Shoei NEOTECH II with the Sena SRL-MESH system. Now, straight off the bat, no system is perfect but, when it comes to the speakers, the speakers on the Sena SRL-MESH are Harman Kardon and this is the best sound quality I've ever had from any in-helmet system. The Sena system also has...

    (Tire) Life is good

I use the third one you listed. The Second one looks like the hose could be a bit short. The first one looks ideal, it may even fit under the seat. For some reason they are not listed on my Amazon site! The prices in Canada seem a lot higher...

    (Tire) Life is good

I've been carrying an Oasser battery tyre pump on both my bikes for years. On my commuter bike, I would check and top up my tyre pressures with it every day when commuting (5 days a week) and it survived about 100,000 miles in a pannier before giving up the ghost (stopped charging). It was used...

    Yamaha brand FJR Tank Bag

I did a bit of research before getting my tank bag as I didn't want straps or other items rubbing on the paintwork. I ended up with an SW-Motech Pro Daypack which connects to a "PRO Tank Bag Ring" (you must get the PRO ring) on the fuel cap mount. There's an optional Map/Smartphone case and a...
