    Garmin Zumo discount

12 years on a battery is amazing. I changed my OEM out a 5 years, and I'm now at 10 and planning to change it again. Maybe I'll rethink that. :)

    Garmin Zumo discount

When I switch my ignition off, my old 396 gives me several seconds' warning before shutting down and gives me an opportunity to cancel the shutdown. If I cancel, it keeps running off it's own battery. I don't know how long it would run then, but it's always been enough. I leave it on the bike...

Where do you buy your oil change kit from

One sale at our local Walmart for $23.50 today. During the Great COVID hysteria of 2020 I couldn't find it anywhere for less than $60 a gallon or so. I'm glad to see it's reasonable again.

Where do you buy your oil change kit from

That's interesting; 946 ml is one of our quarts. I'd have assumed you'd buy oil by the liter in Canada. Shows you what I know. I've always got at least a few ounces of oil in various viscosities on the shelf. I buy it by the quart and use it by the liter in both bikes -- 4 of 'em in the...

Where do you buy your oil change kit from

I usually buy my "kit" from Walmart -- either Rotella t6 in 15w40 or Mobil 1 4T motorcycle oil. Filters are usually Mobil 1 Walmart usually. I use Mobil 1 4T motorcycle oil and M1-108 Mobil 1 filters. If you prefer the longer filter that'd be the M1-110 I did use Amsoil 10w40 motorcycle...

    Oil filters size options.

They started specifying the longer filter in 2013, so we're into the second decade of discussions. Welcome to the fray. ;) I picked my bike up new March 2, 2013, and picked up a filter at the same time. The service guy had an older model and just sold me the filter that fit his, and when I...

    Best tires?

I don't know how many tires I've bought online, usually from the source with the lowest price, and I don't believe I've ever bought one more than a year past the date code. Usually it's a few months old when it's in my hands. I will catch a rebate going and buy two sets sometimes, and they...

Do you need a little more HEIGHT for your shoes?

I have a 30" inseam as well, and I do fine until I need to back up on a loose surface. Then I can't get my foot flat on the ground and push without it slipping. I've nearly dropped the bike a time or two when my foot slipped while trying to push. Nonetheless, these look like a terrible idea...

    Seat Confusion

Yeah. That looks almost exactly like the Corbin I had for my ZRX.

    Side Stand Plate

No. You are not. :) I had a buddy that carried a flattened 7Up can for years -- same can. We stopped one day on a trip, and he said "Aw man! I left my can at the restaurant at lunch." I said we could find another, and he said "Yeah, but I'd had that can for years." He seemed to have a...

    Mileage between Brake jobs

Mileage on a set of brake pads could vary wildly. A person who spends a lot of time on the interstates may go 200 miles between gas stops without using them at all. Then another guy who loves aggressively riding the twisties may use them hard several times a mile. FWIW, I changed my fronts at...

    New Brake Pads

My brakes last a long time too. I failed to post when I changed the fronts on my '13, but I just changed the rears at 99,700. I ride a lot of interstate, though. I might stop for gas then get back on the interstate and not touch the brakes for over 200 miles. And I make a game of not using...

    Ivan’s Flash Tuning

I keep records in Excel, so it's easy to do stuff like this. :) In the 82567 miles before the flash I averaged 46.7 mpg. In the 22149 since I've averaged 44.6. That's calculated, not the on-board computer. Prior to the flash, though, I rode often on long trips with a fellow on a Goldwing who...

    Fobo Question?

If you want to go all OCD try making a pressure gauge match 10 different sensors on an RV and towed vehicle. :) I don't have TPMS on my bikes, but on the RV I found a digital gauge that matched the RV tires within 0.5 psi at 84psi per tire and called it good. The next morning I checked again...

    Gps Recomendations

I use the same one, and it serves my needs well. I've copied a bunch of music to it to listen to on the interstate. I was dismayed when I got it that it didn't have a connector for earbuds, but I'm using a Scala Rider that works fine. For routing I still use the Tyre software that came with...

    Tues Signal Canceller

Of course. It's a clever design. I've tried to fool it on turns by turning from a stop real slow and as straight up and down as possible, and I can't. :) Basically, it seems to work wherever my car or truck would -- on turns too shallow for it to sense the turn. But, then, my car would...

    Tues Signal Canceller

My lane changes tend to be so gradual it never seems to sense them. Turns that aren't really turns, just diagonals. don't always cancel them either. But they'll go off after moving several seconds anyway, so even if the turn or lane change is so gradual it doesn't work, I still don't ride...

Phone or GPS - Ultimate Mounting Solution - Really! - No BS

That's the Rambone. I bought one and am still using it.

    Sidecase Yamaha Logo

They are, but so were the ones that fell off :) On my2013, the entire badge, including the chrome part, had screws. But the black part with "YAMAHA" on it was just stuck on until it fell off. I used 3M™ Plastic Emblem and Trim Adhesive, and it's holding so far.

Best place to buy ($) replacement body panels

I've gotten my best pricing on OEM parts the last few times at Rocky Mountain.   Edit: OTOH, I see the 1MC-2835G-00-P6 mentioned above is several dollars higher than Partzilla.  Never mind.  :)
