4x8 utility trailer haul a FJR

I have a 6' x 8' trailer from Tractor Supply; the FJR will sit on it and the ramp will not touch the back of the bike. I've hauled the FJR and my DRZ on the trailer together. I'm in SE Michigan - pm me if you want to take a look at it in person. Wayne

    Heated Gear with mesh jackets

I have used my Warm'n'Safe liner with my Joe Rocket Phoenix mesh jacket quite a bit. I've used if for summer trips where the morning or late evening temps dipped. With the temp in the 50's, I've worn just the heated liner and the jacket - you'll loose some effectiveness because of the air flow...

    Euro Handlebar Switch Source

I have one of the C14 sourced flash to pass buttons installed in my '09; it's wired to be the PTT for my bike to bike communication. The '12 switch housing should be the same; you'll need to look for an '08 to '10 ZG1400 like this one.

    Ohlins Shock Model?

Majicmaker is in the ballpark (amazing, right?) For the Gen II, Ohlins has the YA-036 and YA-707. The primary difference is that the -707 offers a remote hydraulic preload adjustment - this is convenient if you frequently change the load on your bike - i.e. solo no bags to loaded, bags + top...

Where to buy a YA707 Ohlins?

Fastbikeindustries.com. David (owner) started out as an Ohlins suspension tech and has provided discounts for EOM participants on the FJR specific parts. Mention you heard about him via the FJR community from me and see what he can do price wise. He operates out of Hendersonville, near the...

    Solo Touring with a Trunk

Cool idea - I saw something very similar done for a VFR800 Interceptor - moving the top box forward can help the balance of the bike. Great fab work.

Any suggestions on smallest 12v carry-on compressor...

I have that same slime compressor, and found that it will sit in the tail section in front of the tail lights - I've got a velcro strap holding it there, the passenger seat frame clears it. I'll snap a picture of it tonight.

    SPOT 3 Mounting Options

I would try running it inside your top case. Fairly simple to run power into a Givi (assuming you have one on the '08). I ran BubblerGPS on my cell phone while it was inside my Givi and it recorded GPS bings fine. I have a power outlet in there. For my SPOT (which is a spot 2), I keep it on...

The Old (2013-2014) Big FJR Tire Poll

This is a very subjective topic – so many factors go into what works and feels good for a specific rider and bike setup in their geographic area. One aspect that is not captured in the poll questions is suspension set up – is it OEM or aftermarket? Have both ends been upgraded or only the rear...

Problem with BikeTek Center Stand Dolly/Mover

That dolly puts the centerstand at a point where it takes just a lttle bit of the leverage away from it. I use a piece of 3/4" plywood under my center stand when I change the rear tire - I run into the same problem with trying to get the bike up on the centerstand. My fix is having my son lift...

Who makes this luggage rack for an FJR?

I think Premier is still going to market their in-house line of accessories - the luggage racks and such - I'd email Duane and ask. Next to the PCA rack, the Givi SR357 is probably the most secure mount for a top box. I ran a PCA plate and then swapped over to the SR357. Actually, I still...

T-Bag ? (remember its not friday)

I have a T-Bag (Universal, I think) from my HD days that has many miles on it and has had some of those put on while ssecured to the back seat of my FJR. It's a good piece of gear. Depending on the model you have, it should sit on the tail rack and strap to the backrest and grab handles ok.

What is the preferred boot of the FJR riders?

Currently, I have a set of Sidi Way boots. They've done pretty well, water proof and the fit was right. Very comfortable except for in temps above 90 where they get hot. My all time favorite go to boot is a set of Danner Acadia boots I got issued in the late 90's by the Marine Corps. They...
