    Air conditioned helmet?

Had one of these and used them for WFO9. It worked pretty well. Haven't used it much once I stopped riding the hot Gen1 FJR when it is 100+ degrees.

    Sena 20S

I have Sirius XM on my Zumo 550 and GpsMap 478 units. I run the wired audio cable from the GPS units to the AUDIO input below - it serves well for both GPS directions, and satellite radio. I also run the Valentine 1 to the AUX input. The Sena SM10 pairs to any Sena Bluetooth headset in...

ear buds or in helmet bluetooth

Another post on in-helmet bluetooth. Specifically to do with SENA. After a bit over 2.5 years. My Sena 10U Neotec bluetooth battery is now at 50% capacity of what it used to be when it was new. The battery is not service-able/replace-able, nor is the unit able to be powered by an external...

    Sheep skin

Get a Russell which fits your butt. I bought a used Russell on the forum - because I am a cheap-skate. Which was the wrong thing to do. The seller was the same height and weight as me - and I am no fat-ass in any shape or form, but what I didn't realize from the seat pictures - was that seller...

ear buds or in helmet bluetooth

Tried S-plugs. That sounds so wrong...but, they were comfortable enough, but not without discomfort. I am with G, foam earplugs and in helmet speakers with Sena. Never going back to wired again.

Let's see what jacket you're using.

Rukka Airman for the summer. Cordura AFT, breathes like a mesh without being a mesh. Has a zip in goretex liner also. D3O armor throughout. Plenty of pockets. 3/4 adventure length. Klim Latitude 840D Cordura throughout for the winter. Heavy duty, goretex layer built into the jacket. It is a...

    Winter Jacket Advice Needed

Klim. My latitude 840D jacket is great for the winter, as far as wind and rain protection is concerned, but it came with no base or insulation layers, so you have to buy them separately. I just use my heated vest underneath, might upgrade to a full heated liner at some point. I bought it in Jan...

    Best Sirius XM Radio

I had that SkyFi and XM antenna setup several years ago, when I was first setting up for touring on an FJR. The SkyFi I had wasn't waterproof, but that antenna is. The antenna works very well, and is waterproof, and dustproof, I didn't offroad on the FJR, but if you are off-roading and getting...

Superbright LEDs Replacement of Tail/Brake Lights

I do run brighter LED turn signal bulbs in the stock V-Strom housing, but I am reluctant to try LED bulbs in the tail-light housing (FJR or V-Strom). I do not want to risk melting down the housing due to any possible heat issues - the Whelen brake light addition is more than enough.

    Split: Sena Use

A .45 is a standard riding accessory... oops wrong thread... I have had a Sena10u for almost a year now. Love it for music, V1, and GPS. Except I can't get the V1 and GPS when paired with another rider for intercom. Still looking to find a solution to have everything paired in with V1 and/or...

    Split: Sena Use

I have the 10u and it paired up with Bugs unit Okay. Also Feejers but that took couple of tries. I use it mostly to listen to music all day long and pipe the radar and GPS into it also. Have not tried group intercom.

    LED Headlights

Some feedback on the Philips LED headlights as compared to my previous HID headlights. Sorry, no pictures, just my words. FWIW. 1. Nowhere as bright as the HIDs I was running before. The HID headlights in my eyes were the ultimate nemesis of darkness. I hardly ever wanted to or had to use my...

    Front vs Rear Tire Wear

9K rear and 12K front? My wallet would love to get those kind of mileages. Sorry if this is off-topic slightly, but the most I have wrung out of a PR2 rear is 6.5K, and T30-GT rear is 5.5K. PR2 fronts and T30-GT fronts have more or less worn equally, with PR2 mileages being higher - perhaps max...

I will echo the almost 2 rears to 1 front. PR2 or T30-GT

    LED Headlights

The V-strom got some LED love this week. The HIDs in the V-strom lasted 2+ years and went kaput. It's the ballasts, the bulbs are fine. I had to cut short a long ride and bee-line it home due to the dead headlights - and not wanting to rely on the aux lights only. The high beam aux lights are...

    LED Headlights

I would imagine 10+ years of baked in deposit would take some elbow grease. My vstrom reflector had it for 2 years before I decided to clean it up, if I had waited few more years? Who knows. I suppose with all things in life YMMV. Bummer!
