My Impressions of the MV Motorrad Bar Riser

I just got back on a 2013 FJR and am considering the MV risers. Most of this thread is fairly old, so: what's the easiest or preferred current way to buy them? I'm also wondering about the current cost. Thanks for any info.

In Search Of: The Perfect Windscreen

Any one had any neck/shoulder soreness after going to the bigger screens like the Rifle? I've run stock or Yamaha tall on all 3 of my FJRs and never had a problem until I put a Rifle +3 on last June. Figured it might be the helmet since I also got a new Nolan 104. Changed to a Nolan N90 and...

    Wild Bill Highway Pegs

I'm sorry to hear that. I bought 2 sets from him over the years and a set came uninstalled with my '07. He always had a good product with a good price, I thought. I've always admired these guys who do "garage" fabrication. Wish I had their talent. Hopefully, somebody will pick up the...

    Nolan 104

FWIW-- The XXL will not fit in the side cases. My XL 103 did, but not this XXL. I found on a 4500 mile trip that the pinlock worked great in the rain, but in heavy rain I had drips inside from the top of the shield much sooner than I have had with the 103. It has more ventilation than the...

    Nolan 104

Actually, I think the N104 is closer to the N103 in quality and build. I have the 103 and 104, and the 90 for my wife. N90 interior is not as plush as the 103, and vents may be less robust. Considering the $100+ difference in the 90 vs. 104, it is still a great helmet for the money. The only...

    techmount

It is missing the plate that is rectangular and has a "titt" on it to line up with the dimples on the top piece. The center of the plate will have a couple of recessed holes where the screw goes through to attach it to the top piece.

Old Wild Bill's highway mounting plates and pegs

Hellava endorsement: "I've crashed 4 times..." Have you considered training wheels to go with the highway pegs? :P

    Show me your RAM Mounts

Yeah, he probably turns the headlights off and flies IFR at night. Fewer bugs to contend with.

Vista Cruise and where to buy

Looks like MotorcycleGear.com has them for $25.99. I've done 4 of them, and it takes less than 20 minutes unless I have to stop to rehydrate. Also, I use Progrip PG699 gelgrips since they are a bit shorter, and don't crowd the Vista Cruise model 074044 which is the one you are...

    GPS mounting suggestions

I'm chea.... frugal. I stuck velcro to the back of my Nuvi 260 and stuck it to the Touratech stem mount mini. It's been in use for a couple of years on the longer rides, and is still working. It's been in a lot of rain in a baggie, and stuck to a plate on the Wolfmann tank bag on a V Strom...

    Heated Grips

I used the Dual Stars on my FJR and the vendor recommended using a heat shrink tube on the clutch side to compensate for the aluminum bar, even though the left element is hotter. I recently bought the Symtecs (which look like the exact same thing, down to the switch and wire), but emailed...

    Puralator PureONE Oil Filter

The FAQ sheet on this forum says the 14610 is 3.25 and the Yamaha stock and 14612 is 2.5 if that helps.

    Puralator PureONE Oil Filter

That would be the long one, wouldn't? The ones that won't work with Wild Bill's highway pegs?

    Do not buy from Motorcyclecloseouts

So, which is more likely to be worn? An expensive well rated helmet with a little age on it vs. a lesser expensive/rated helmet made yesterday? I used to argue that I'd rather wear a bullet resistant vest that stops 75% of the stuff and is comfortable enough to wear 12 hours, than one that...

    Zumo GPS

You are right, and I stand corrected. The Stromtrooper forum was just talking up the Nuvi 500 and I got cross wired. Nevermind....

    Zumo GPS

Wow... the Loony must be way different than the dollar... I see the 550 on amazon.com for about $250. May be the difference is re-furb?...I don't know, I've had 3 Garmins from there (including the re-furbs) and all worked well. Maybe I am comparing apples to oranges?
