I'm thinking this is all about an 11 page Troll. Let's move on to something that really matters ... Ride more , worry less.

    I lost 5lbs to sweat.

I believe they are OEM from Mama Yamaha. Adds a bit of chrome and keeps boots from melting. Also, Gen3 are always missing the Bag tag due to bad glue. Buy from Gen 1 or Gen 2 and use good glue.

    Final Gear Oil Question

OP, I also live in MN and just changed my Rear Drive oil. #1 Don't rotate the tire, just drain and re-fill. #2 Use Gear oil of suitable viscosity. I use synthetic every 25k miles. #3 Fill to the brim and snug bolts. No one has ever heard of a FJR having Drive issues if there is oil in...

What did you do to your FJR today?

I hope to do both tires tomorrow or the next day. Update ... Done in a buddy's garage in 2-3 hours. No Mar is good, Friend who helps run it is PRICELESS!!! Thanks Cookie!!! I got 2 trips to and thru Arkansas for 6k miles, and I barely got home. PR4 GTs don't last very long on AR roads...

What did you do to your FJR today?

The FJR is less top heavy than the C10 ... but if you are doing tight stuff , do it with 1/2 a tank of gas or less.

    Michelin Road 6GT

And like others, the front starts to cup at about 1/2 life. I was impressed w/ PR2s. Loved my PR3s (sipes in the rain). Mostly have used PR4s for years now... and never had bad cupping like some mentioned. My thought is Michelins run soft on the sidewall, and benefit from a higher pressure. I...

Best price on Michelin or Dunlop?

https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/tires-and-wheels/michelin-motorcycle-tires?v=2013-yamaha-fjr1300a PR4GT pair for about $310 @ RMATV  ... I got some for next summer.  Michelin has a $60 rebate thru July too!

    2005 Oil viscosity

I realize it's just my opinion ...  and everybody has one ... But since it's water-cooled I run a 10/40 weight all year long.  The fan comes on about 200' anyway.  Keep in mind I may have to start it some Spring or Fall morning around 32' ...  and I just got back from Alabama where it was 96'...

Oh no he didn’t!! Yes it’s a tire thread.

Michelin's are great tires ... but tend to be a softer ride (even GT).  I always suggest you 'Pump them up' to near the max pressure (40/42) to avoid the scalloping beyond belief.     YMMV

How old is too old when buying a tire?

My brother refused to spend the money on his used ST1300 for new tires. I went to ride with him (in another state) and found he was riding on 13 year old Bridgestones (not great to begin with). He said the tread is still good, but I said the checking and cracking and dryness is bad for...

    "Dirt" tires on an FJR

I think Michelin makes a 'Trail' version of the PR4 that is made for ADV type rides. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/michelin-pilot-road-4-trail-tires              https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/michelin-anakee-3-tires?rrec=true  My guess is it costs more but may be a better ride...

I'm interested in your opinions, Me, I'm pissed!

Seats , windshields and clothing...  are so unique  that everybody wants to 'try it before you buy it'. I know this so I (hardly) never buy clothing without trying it on.  The used seats and windshields out there are out there because someone didn't like it. That's your first (3) question ...

What did you do to your FJR today?

NBB, I picked up the tabs on Friday, removed the covers and installed them on Saturday, and went for a 60 mile ride in 60 ' temps on Sunday!!! I stayed on clean(er) 2 lane roads and checked out my route for an up-coming ride in April.  The bike was fully charged, and she started on the first...

Is ES worth the money ?

Just a note ... the A model has a rear shock adjustment lever for instantly stiffer rear suspension. I use it when I pick up a rider, but you do have to stop to use it ... not on the fly.   It works for me ... and other folks who like things simpler (and cheaper).

    Purolator L14610 - dont buy

I think Yamaha still fits. The old # is longer, the new # is shorter... but both work well. YMMV

    New Job!

If this works out to Sturgis ... you will certainly see a lot!

    Growing up

I like the expression 'You're as old as you feel'. Some days I feel like I'm 18 ... some days I feel like I'm 80. Relish them all, because you are the result of all your prior experiences.
