    Final drive tools

Look up Henry’s Final drives. He manufactures an overdrive final drive for Gen 5 goldwings. He might be able to do the gear swap for you. He is located in Southern California. His drives get great reviews by Goldwing Owners that hav3 them.

    2014 FJR1300A Broken Fork Damper

One thing to consider, is the torque value for the bottom bolt to the cartridge is too much. Max at Traxxion Dynamics recommends snugging it up and then give the bolt just a little more. It's got a copper washer underneath and won't leak and won't break the cartridge. The bolt can't fall out...

    2014 FJR1300A Broken Fork Damper

I have a gen II fork damper. I don't know if it will fit. But you are welcome to it to try. Part 31 in the microfiche looks exactly the same. The bolt that goes into the bottom looks the same. From you picture I can't tell if the bottom is the same, but might be worth a try. Price is...

    2014 with serious problem

a low battery will cause all sorts of codes to trigger that make no sense. The compression number make me wonder if the tech knows how to do one correctly. I would install a new battery and reset the code and see if everything clears up. If it still runs badly, then do another compression...

Gen 2 Fork Disassembly - Advice required

I use a map gas torch to warm the area around the middle bushing. You can get a good amount of heat in the fork leg in about 30 seconds. They usually come out with a couple of pulls on the inner tube.

    Broken damper rod?

Just get a 26 mm socket and a piece of 1/2 tube and weld up your own tool to hold the nut on top of the cartridge then you can do it by yourself and have the right tool for disassembly next time

    Broken damper rod?

Today is your lucky day. I have a set of Gen 1 fork bottoms (no sliders) and one good complete cartridge that were left over from another forum member who needed a cartridge when his broke. If you would like, get your forks back and you can come over to my place and we can rebuild them. PM me...

    Update/resolved & thx. —> Tire mount / balance weight(s) question

Since everyone has gone down the rabbit hole. Did the guy ever go ride it? My guess is you could remove all the weights and he would not know the difference. Tire wear would show, but he would not feel any difference unless he is well over 100 mph and even then the suspension would probably...

    Broken Rear Subframe

Even if you don't want to use the GIVI top case, you can use the Givi SR357 mounting, which you can bolt a flat plate to for you Pelican mount to bolt to (or other system). The OEM grab rails are plastic and really do nothing for support.

    I forked myself.

there are several threads on here that show you what tools you need to do a fork rebuild and how to make them. You need a 26mm socket and piece of 1/2" tube to make the socket to hold the cartridge from spinning.

    I forked myself.

Panman has seen one we had during a tech meet that had a similar problem to yours.

    I forked myself.

I would call KFG directly and talk to Barry. Pretty sure he can fix you up. Heat the area around the middle bushing with a MAP gas torch (puts a lot of heat in a short period of time - won't damage your forks - but it will get HOT fast). I usually give it a good 15-20 seconds. Keep the torch...

    Gen II fork bushings

That is typical for the middle bushings. The bottom ones take all the wear.    some suspension shops do leave the middle bushing out. I believe their theory is it helps reduce the fork stiction.  Not sure most people would ever notice the difference in feel. As I understand it the middle...

    Cam Chain Tensioner Blade Replacement

I just used and impact driver.  to break it loose.  IIRC the torque is about 45 Ft-lbs.  Not too excessive.  I have both an air impact and a Milwaukee 1/2" battery one.  You just need it to break it loose.  Then I just put it on finger tight while doing all the checks.  When you rotate the...

    Cam Chain Tensioner Blade Replacement

that's correct. You will have enough slack.  I think I had to move the left chain slider up a little by removing the dowel that it sits over to make it easier while engaging the chain on the crank, then slide it back.  I didn't have to take the slider out, just move it to create more slack in...
