    Fork Tube Separation Advice

I gave mine a hard couple of pulls and it separated without major issues. It requires forceful sudden pulls otherwise it can get stuck. Mine started leaking at 50k miles. Its got 7500 miles of no issues so far.

    2013 FJR Rear Shock

My gen II shock went bad at 52k miles. I installed a gen III no problem

Gen 2 Fork Disassembly - Advice required

It was a lot easier than I expected going in with no prior experience doing forks. Give the tube a swift firm pull or two to separate it. I didn’t have issues separating them cold even with middle bushing dislocated. I didn’t install a middle bushing either and have had no issues. My forks...

2016 headlamp adjuster knob set screw - help

Try to get it in without the knob so you know if it grabs or not first. They can be a pita. Also rotate the knob outwards so you have more room to turn. I have stubby fingers and managed to lose one of those.

Tire inflation for a bigger tire

Is cold tire inflation psi the same in a 190 as it is for a regular 180 size tire?

    Gen II fork bushings

Update:  I put it all back together and used belray 10w oil.  Tweaked suspension settings and went for a ride. Its like a new bike! No more leaks and it rides great!

    Gen II fork bushings

I don’t have a saw to cut pipe and no tool to drive the middle bushing.  I’m gonna go with lower and upper bushings.  I think it should be ok.

    Gen II fork bushings

I just took a fork apart to replace a small leak I couldn’t remedy with sealmate. Surprisingly to me after 47k original miles on the forks, and the first time a seal leaks, the tubes came apart fairly easy with just 5 whacks.  The middle bushing is in better than expected shape it shows very...

    Clutch soak aftermath

Thanks for your help.  I’d never messed with the clutch but it had been increasingly clunky so I bled the line and replaced the lever bushing as well.  I figured those bolts were snug but without a torque wrench in that low torque Range I ended up under torquing them.  At least I got stranded in...

    Clutch soak aftermath

Found the issue! The spring plate retainer bolts became loose. I could spin them with my fingers.  I bought a small torque wrench and torqued them to 70.8 in lbs which is equivalent to 8NM.  Thankfully the retainer bolts stayed on.  If one bolt fell into the case the outcome would have been...

    Clutch soak aftermath

Dave, for the soak I used castrol 10w40 motorcycle oil

    Clutch soak aftermath

Took cover off and I see pressure plate is moving when I depress clutch lever so that is working fine. The issue must then be related to the plates, maybe I messed up plate assembly sequence somehow. I’m gonna put them back in the opposite direction and see. I might need to buy a new set.

I’ll take cover off tomorrow and see if anything jumps at me
