    Pulling to the left

What the other guys said. I dropped my bike in pine needles one time and on a grass yard another, it had a soft landings in both cases with no visible damage, but when the handlebar hit the ground first, it was enough force to twist the forks where they clamp in the triple trees. After said...

2016 FJR1300A Check Engine Light On

Yes, earlier 2016's had a programming glitch and Yamaha came up with the firmware update later in the year. This fixed the issue for when the key cycle to run was delayed or incomplete and the cel error would trigger. Your dealer should be able to provide this flash under the recall. I had the...

    Bike Pulls to left

Mine did it after I dropped it in the yard one day. I loosened the top triple tree clamps and aligned the front wheel as best I could while holding the bars straight. The bike tracked true again afterward in my case.

Gen I Rostra Install Advice Needed

I think they can be found cheaper elsewhere, but I got them here, and only needed 3. Rostra sells a vss pick up coil kit and the wiring diagram comes with it iirc. I fabricated a bracket out of scrap steel and mounted it just in front of the axle on the swing arm...

    2016 FJR1300AE (ES) - Menu Button Inoperative

Is it possible the tie down straps might have tweaked the wires that run along the handlebars to the switch pod?

Hey, at least when they jump and their chute gets twisted up they can rest assured the cords likely won't fail nearly as easy.....

Resolved!: Screwed up big -- trusted the dealer for the first valve check

Or, the male fastener and aluminum alloy female threads had some electrolysis going on and the threads gall up on the fastener's way out. Some stainless alloys are notorious for galling up stainless on stainless as well.

2016 FJR1300A Check Engine Light On

Just now saw this Adam. No, my bike would not start which tells me the key was sufficiently off of the on position.

2016 FJR1300A Check Engine Light On

Yep, that's all my dealer's service manager did was to download an ecu reflash. I went out to my bike just now (it's now been a trouble free no cel event under normal operation circumstances week), and tried to induce a cel event by purposely performing a slow key on start (as in 4 or 5 seconds...

You might try taking one of the side bag locks in to a lock smith. They come apart very easily and any locksmith worth his salt should be able to cut a fresh one to match the tumbler stack up.

2016 FJR1300A Check Engine Light On

Got a call from my dealer's service manager a while ago. He informed me that mother ship has released a firmware update to address the issues listed in these previous posts, and I didn't ride in to work today dammit.

    Sport/Tour selection

Great comments. Like the others, I much prefer Stud mode in the fun stuff because things seem night and day more responsive that way. I've tried both modes while droning long distances and didn't see much difference in mpg's between the two so I just keep it in S mode.
