Has anyone else here ever added a suspending pin to their MC Enterprises Canyon Cages to ease front end maintenance?

Alternately - I sometimes just hang bikes from the trolley hoist. You do need to be careful not to lift it off the center stand, but in an emergency situation - leaning on the up button can just pick the whole thing up rather than dropping it. How to deal with the stupid Vstrom rear brake...

If it were me. Rather than some sort of double ended threaded spacer - I would emulate the R-gaza hardware. Longer bolt - stepped washer that hits the outside of the tube that your current bolt slides through and some sort of a puck, which doubles/triples as a slider and place to rest your feet.

I will say that the pucks on the R-Gaza bars are a great place for jackstands

Steering Head Roller Bearing - Upgrade or Boondoogle?

I have never used a torque wrench on a tapered bearing in my life. Grease it up, torque it down until you are sure the grease is not making it float and adjust it by feel.

Steering Head Roller Bearing - Upgrade or Boondoogle?

FWIW - when I did mine, I removed the tank. Not because you have to, just because it is worth the extra 5 minutes to not worry about banging anything into it while you are pulling and installing bearing races.

    Oil Leak happening right now…

I wonder what that type of coolant is? Both my FZ1 and FJR had some weird smelling brown coolant in them when I bought them - soy sauce sounds about right. Always figured that it was one of those oddball things like water wetter or some other overpriced thing since both PO's were people who...

Looks to me like your oil filter is leaking.

    Final drive tools

Sounds fun, but seems like a lot of work for a bike that is pretty happy at 100mph for hours.

    Final drive tools

    Ok - why?

Tank will not align after lifting it.

    Hit it with your purse?

    overfilled oil?

It's fine. I intentionally run my Yamaha motors a little over the high line. Not had any issues.

    Fork bolts

There is a certain amount of side by side flex in the fork legs. Honestly I think it is more important at Step C to give the fork a good bounce or 2 - that should put the loose side where you want it. (Likely flush with the axle)

    Rear tire leak

Nope - but they are round and hold air, just like the car tire that is on the back of my FJR ;)

    Rear tire leak

Yup. Easier to see it coming out sometimes. Used to do that with 37 inch mud tires when the leak was really hard to find.

    Rear tire leak

If it is leaking that bad, put the water in the tire.

    Rear tire leak

I had a weird leak in my front tire a few weeks ago. It was actually leaking between the stem and the rim. Changed the stem and it was fine. It was only leaking a couple PSI a day. Found it by filling the wheelbarrow with water and very slowly looking for any bubbles. Make sure the stem is...

Drive train "crashing" when engaged on a cold engine

Mine too. Although I just start and go. Never been one to warm up cars or bikes

Drive train "crashing" when engaged on a cold engine

Option 2 - put it in gear before you start the bike.

    Clutch Slipping on 08

Sounds like there was an issue during your rebuild and the slave is not retracting all the way.
