    Mystery Screw Assistance Needed

When I read the title of this thread, I thought to myself, "Well, let's get Zappo to lube up and don the blindfold." Imagine my disappointment. I'd REALLY appreciate a less misleading title next time, thank you very much. But I'm glad you figured out where that last threaded fastener belongs.

    What undercut gears look like

Fred, I would think that clutchless shifting can still be accomplished without too much fuss. One may need to be a bit more precise with respect to the shift point (rpm), but I doubt most would notice the difference. Disclaimer - I have not had this done on my bike, so it's mere speculation.

    Repaired my 2730 screen!

Ordered. Thanks for the linky thingy. BTW, here's the instructions on how to change the scree once you get it out of the unit. No soldering required on the Streetpilot.

to clutch or not to clutch ?

In addition to ion's words, I'd say that when stopping behind traffic at a light, make sure you align your cycle with a clean get-away zone if at all possible. That way if an incident occurs behind you the amount of maneuvering required is greatly reduced. Just rev and release. I keep mine in...

Holeshot system: Gen 1 and Gen 2 the same?

Okay, I give up. Searched on google, searched on forum, even visited a wise guy in the Himalayas. All I want to know is, the Holeshot system for the FJR, is it the same for a Gen 1 and a Gen 2? I sent a question to Dale Walker, but since he's the only one who answers his e-mails, I'm not sure...

    Twisties in the Rain

HRZ makes a great point. Even dry roads can give us nasty surprises. Imagine that oil patch on a freshly-moistened curve.

'06 AE: Key Sticks in Ignition

I used a WD-40 type lube, which helps keep water off of the surfaces inside the switch, about a year or so ago. I think it helped significantly. The bent-key thing has happened to me twice, but other than that, no problems removing the key from the switch after lubing it.

    Has anyone try this?

At first I thought it said, "the Cure for all Elvis." And I thought, "What the heck does this have to do with vibrations?" And then I posted this and thought, "Wow, that has pretty much nothing to do with numbness either." Um, where were we?

    A Friday Ride Gone Bad

Glad you're okay. Do you have need of a garage, or is it too late for that? I'm kinda far away, but you and your FJR are welcome. Perhaps someone closer can offer up?

    Heilbars and a fork brace?

Not sure about the Heli bars. My fork brace seemed (and maybe it was only perception) to add some small, noticable amount of rigidity to the forks in the twisties. Not sure if it helped with cupping, though, because I put that brace on soon after getting the bike. So, in summary, I think the...

    Front tire bounce?

I have a similar condition around 40 mph. Tire is balanced and appears to be round. Hopefully the next PR2 front - if I go with them again - does not exhibit the same tendency. Oh, and it started at around 5k miles.

Where to get ready made power cable for Fuzeblock

I'm glad to hear that I wasn't the only one to do that. Three strands off each wire, I think it was? Definitely go with the 12 ga.

    Short long story

+1, check it out. You could save hundreds to thousands on repair, or thousands to millions on a new bike. (Okay, maybe not millions. But close.) Would probably take some patience.
