Assuming yours is a Gen3 FJR, potentially useful. The connector is under the saddle, in your owner's manual, look for "Diagnostic Connector" in the index. You can get the adaptor for the FJR if your current one isn't suitable, just google "FJR1300 ODB adaptor". Never used one myself, so...

That's almost certainly US spec.

That does sound like miles per US gallon. I've always averaged around 58 plus overall, it can dip to 40 but only when all riding was in local heavy traffic, all stop-start, rarely reaching 40mph. I've always logged my fuel consumption, click on the year for each of my four FJRs, 2006 2010, 2014...

What year is your bike? Gen2 UK spec bikes are set to degrees C and MPG (imperial gallons), no way of changing them. If yours is a Gen2 and is reading degrees F, it's not a UK bike.

Definitely an Audiovox CCS 100, If it's of any use, try this link for the manual. You'll need to take the cover off to find exactly which wire is cut, it is very common to not use the "Speed" wire, just to rely on the tacho for speed regulation. I installed one on my 2006 and 2010, annotated...

Can't help with the canyon cage, but these pics from when I did my '06 may give you some idea.

Bike on centre stand, sit at one side facing fromt wheel, grasp brake rotor edge as near opposite points as you can. Try rotating it forwards and backwards with a jerking motion. Repeat other side. If you hear or feel any sort of clunk, that is most likely your noise. If so, nothing. to worry...

I've used WD40 extensively for cleanig all sorts, dowsn't seem to affect any of the FJR's finishes, theough I've not needed to use it inteh windscreen. Some years ago I posted up one experience here.

Another possibility is sticky gunk on the clutch plates. It's not a big job to strip the clutch sufficiently to clean and re-oil (most of the plates are usually pretty dry). I've stripped my '06 for soaking, my piccy guide is here, I don't think your '15 is significantly different.

Purpose is simply to let you know if your oil level is too low. In my experience, it never comes on between changes, but I have heard of it showing someone when his drain plug allowed oil to leak. As for worries about oil pressure, as a follower of this and another FJR forum for many years...

Saying your year and model might help, also whereabouts in the loom that connector is coming from. Brown with black tracer is used in several places in the loom, for instance the Gen 2 auxiliary socket in the glovebox, the heated grip circuit, feed to the cooling fan motors, rear brake light...

Bad ECU couldn't give you 12V at the RR negative terminal. That can only be a ground discontinuity somewhere.

The "12 volts everywhere" suggests it's the ground wire from the battery that's not got continuity. Measure the voltage between battery negative and frame.

Good to hear. (I still don't like cats with collars, I think it spoils their looks, also not as pleasurable stroking them. But that's me 😮)
