I'd re-trace your steps. It often is the last thing you touched ... and/or the battery has to be fully charged (or replaced) and many folks are good to go!

I use the KISS method of diagnostics ... The last thing I changed is 'probably' related to the problem.

Rear Reservoir feeds both the right front link, and the rear caliper.

LFB, Ross is SO right! The shorter running time often does more harm than good. It may not fully re-charge the battery, adds extra fuel and could get flooded, adds water to the oil, and YOU have to do it on all 5 bikes? Just get a Battery Tender and move it to each bike for a day or so each...

Make sure the sensor is correctly fitted BTDT ... The manual is your friend. Gotta line up the notch in the slot. I heard a terrible scraping once when I got the pads in wrong too. YMMV

Like the pros said ... It 's probably the battery. This bike rarely breaks ... but tires, oil and batteries wear out. So... replace them as needed. YMMV

I rode this last weekend with a bunch of FJRs @ a COG Rally in WI. We started @ 33' and snow, came home 3 days later (after 1000 miles) @ 45' and some sun. Everyone was running electric gear and some have heated grips too. My buddy found his battery dead on Saturday morning ... due to cold...

FYI ... The OEM black plastic screws are designed to break under the pressure of a crash (DAMHIK). This may save a life or a limb during a get-off. If you choose replacement screws, don't use metal (or even stronger plastic) or you will have defeated the point of 'safety screws'. YMMV

My 2013 was exhibiting 'smoothness issues' and I ignored it as along as possible.  Then I did the TPS replacement (with help from NBB) . My buddies 2014 was exhibiting big shifting smooth 'issues' and he fought with it. We did the TPS together and his first response was ' I got a new bike...

KISS ... every time we see an electrical issue ... it's 30+ tries to find a bad/weak connection somewhere hard to reach.  This bike (my 2003 was similar) just needs a strong battery!!! Every time I hear about a bad wiring issue, it's usually not... just a tired battery and the FJR wants a NEW...

On the first shift out of neutral... I upshift to 2nd.  No clunk.   From then on, I clutch and count to 2 or 3.  No clunk all day.  Shift around 4k = snick right into gear.   It seems to like some pressure on the shifter ... and very little clutch pull. 

Do the plugs whenever you are in there for a valve check ... 25k + I wish I did the fluids as often as it says in the book... maybe that's why some older FJR's no longer have working ABS. 

My buddy bought a used 2014 and it was perfect ... until the stumble just off idle showed up.  He even killed it a few times. We adjusted the clutch lever, replaced the brass bushing, ran chemicals thru it, bled the clutch fluid, and still stumbled off idle. GET A NEW TPS! I said and helped him...

I had an 'issue' going off-road after missing a decreasing radius turn in TN somewhere.  I saw a tree coming fast so chose to lay it down in the soft grass.  The grass wasn't very soft, but my tank bag and windshield both came off and rolled to a stop close together.  After I gathered myself...

I remember a tip to unwind the return spring to 'soften' the return pressure.  Maybe check the return spring in case it 'unwound' once on it's own.  

... and taught us all a valuable lesson.    Good example of what I might have done wrong too.    TIA for helping us all.

Search 'Fast Starter Syndrome' as many of us have had it.   Usually it seemed to show up on older bikes,  so this proves age doesn't matter.   YMMV
