It's not just me then. I thought knowing Eddie personally and liking him was an automatic proposition.

T6 will never be right again and my right half still feels full of scar tissue, but I'm alive and happy. ;)

I had a similar experience once. It was an Earls rally in 2015. One that he won, I saw him during the rally, thought I had a better route, and would have....if I hadn't have splatted two sheep and got an expensive helicopter ride to a trauma center. The coolest thing in the world was him...

It looks like somewhere between 77,000 and 80,000 was the minimum to finish. 94 finishers with 13 DNF is a pretty successful field. Usually around 2/3 to 3/4 are finishers...this percentage is much higher.

I vaguely remember a target point range shared for an earlier leg in a report...or maybe an FB comment of somebody at the CP. Regardless, they haven't shared minimum points for the rally. After the banquet they'll post the results and the cut line will manifest.

I was going to post a freshened version of my Day 8 post about the fog of the rally, but Lisa Landry nailed it even better and notice some of the rally dots are slowing down. Copy and paste this gem. I get it.

IBA Motorcycle Riders is the most popular one that anybody can get into. There are others, but they have special affiliation and private groups.

Regrading the decline of coverage here on IBR: Same reasons as shared in the past.....it's on FB more now. Beyond the IBR, dedicated forums have been declining for years to social media. There are actually more riders this year in the rally! Also, they've held details of the rally more...

Watching riders at 2 a.m. my time and seeing that with a bit over 4 days left a couple of folks appear to be headed to Alaska after having crossed into Canada, a third crosser going around the lakes near Thunder Bay, and a particularly industrious bee heading back towards the northeast with...

I'm betting you're fairly zoomed in on Centennial. Just because reported dots aren't within a hundred yards of the hotel doesn't mean they're moving. For example, the one 2/3 of the way to Denver may have reported there, but then arrived to the CP before their unit transmitted a new position...

Resolved: IBR Rider Needs Help in Los Angeles Area

An important follow-up to this particular story. One of the hallmarks of the IBR is a the cadre of past finishers, aspiring compeitors, general motorcycle supporters, and even civilians eager to support the riders and rally. Case in point is Greg Barrett that provided exceptional service to a...

The Amarillo and Kearney ones appear to be moving and on the nail-biter for penalty points are not when you do divide the miles needed to get back by the number of hours left. The AZ one is one of those that one wonders if it's a battery gone out, not reporting for some other reason, or one...
