FJR in the Barber Motorsports museum ?

When I was there in 2013 I seem to remember seeing an FJR on display, but I can't find a picture of it, so I may be wrong.

    E15 / Unleaded 88 in 2008 FJR1300

I know nothing about the chemistry and reactions of the various fuels, but I do read the manual when I buy a piece of equipment and follow what it says in order to protect my investment. That said, most of my small engines with carburetors get corn free high octane gas because it works well and...

    FJR1300 To Be Retired

My Tundra is a 2019, and I do like the ACC on it. I still use the accelerator at times to close the gap in front of me when the traffic is heavy. I think it is very handy to use the ACC to slow me down when I catch up to a vehicle in the same lane. I look forward to the day, if it ever happens...

    FJR1300 To Be Retired

All those electronics sound nice..... until something breaks. I don't like the looks, but worse is the fact that it has chain drive. I suppose it is a nice machine for people who want that style of motorcycle, but it is not close to a replacement for the FJR without shaft drive. Edit: I just...

    2022 knocked over

Nope. NY and NJ both require helmets and insurance for all riders regardless of age.

    2022 knocked over

I switched to Geico about 10 years ago. They have a reputation for being very difficult to deal with when you file a claim, but the price was the lowest I could find at the time. Well, earlier this year I bought a new vehicle for my wife and decided to look around for prices for insurance. I...

    Single pin battery tender

You can always add the SAE connector to your battery so you can use the standard Battery Tender connector. The one with the rings that comes with a Battery Tender and already has an inline fuse is what I use. You can make up cables with SAE on one end and whatever you need on the other end. I...

    2022 Yamaha FJR

The good news is that there is an FJR for 2022. The bad news is that it is not updated.

    2022 FJR?

This makes a lot of sense. Yamaha will have to meet the EURO5 standard across their street bike line or stop selling in Europe. If one or more of their existing engines can not fit into the equation then those engines will go away and be replaced by something else. That still does not satisfy...

    Concours or FJR

Perhaps there are 4 times as many Connies for sale than FJRs because nobody wants one. :tonguesmiley: Just kidding, I never even sat on a Concourse so I can't compare. I owned a 2-cycle Kawasaki in the 70's and enjoyed it, but it was obviously cheaply made and I decided then to stay away from...

    Givi V46 Affects Handling

Your weight, size, and shape may also make a difference in how much wind reaches the front of the top box. Another variable may be the windscreen you use and what position you keep it in.

    Givi V46 Affects Handling

Do you normally carry some weight in the box or ride with it empty? I never had an issue with mine, but I always had a few things in there that weighed a few pounds.

    End of an ERA

That garage is far too neat. You need to get some clutter in there. 😉

    End of an ERA

I'm confused. I thought that all the old guys moved to the big Hondapotamus.  🏍️ Anyway, that looks very nice. Personally, I still have my '05 FJR and don't think about trading it, but I do not ride very much these days.

    2022 FJR?

I believe that there is still a market for a Yamaha sport touring machine. If Yamaha has developed a lighter composite frame then it makes sense to put one of their existing engines that are compliant with the Euro5 requirements into that lighter frame and add the features we like from our FJR...

    Parts Availability Issues

I have always believed that a vehicle manufacturer is required to supply parts for at least 10 years if they sell in the USA; however, I have not found any proof of that, so it is probably not true.

    2020 FJR1300

Yes, you are right. I didn't notice that it listed two previous years. That explains the big price difference.

    2020 FJR1300

Both the ES and A are listed on the US web site. About 1600 bucks more for the ES.

Van too low to carry FJR

Do you intend to carry the FJR and tow the boat at  the same time?   Edit: Oops, reading comprehension.... I thought you said you picked up a boat and a van.     🥴 Considering the effort required to squeeze the FJR into the van even if it will fit, a trailer might be your best option. If you...

    Bike keyed at work!

I bought my FJR specifically as a commuter. My commute was mostly rural with only a few miles of city traffic as I approached my office complex/lab. I wanted the power and storage. It was only after I rode it that I realized all of the other capabilities. I guess it depends on your commute and...
