Going price on leftover 2018 1300a model?

Congrats on being back in the saddle again! Opinions differ on that matte blue, but I thought it was awesome when I saw it in person. Your going to love the improvements made on that bike from what you rode previously.

How Many Miles Did You Ride In 2019?

28,422 for me last year.  Probably the majority of those miles are commuting miles between late March and early December.  Which brings the odo to read 91,422 on my '15 bought new labor day weekend '16.  Of course for "some people" that would be done in 11 months.

    FJR Mileage Milestones

People have posted enough links to threads that show how to post pics on this forum. Read them and learn how. You can do it, I have faith in you.

What to look for in an 05 FJR ABS purchase.

When I first read the title, I thought to myself that I should warn you, that if the 05 you happen to be looking at is yellow & black, you should look to see if it still has a large hole in the oil pan. lol. But then that particular bike had significantly more miles on her. The 05 is a great...

What Generation are 2016 and 2017 FJRs?

I voted for the Gen IV V designation. I believe the mechanical changes that were made supersedes the cosmetic changes that were made between '05 and '06. Sure parts of the frame changed as well, but it added nothing significant IMO. And what was the big change between '12 and '13? More...

    FJR Mileage Milestones

Congrats!! I don't imagine there are very many '13s in the 100K club. Especially one from such less than favorable climates for bike riding.

    dropped my new fjr!

As many times as I dropped Old Yeller, I didn't waste too much time to install canyon cages on the new bike. I figure if I am going to continue to do rallys, I just know there's a cemetary out there some wheres where I'll drop it. But looking at these cages on my bike, I can see where it'll...

    No place like this place

A real nice write up Gary. But I suspect that the majority of the folks who make up this forum, are willing to, and have, helped others even if they are not members of this forum. I think some of this is in part to the type of rider that the FJR attracts. Mature people, both in age and...

    FJR Mileage Milestones

It pained me as well to think that she might just get torn apart and sold off one little bit n piece at a time. But I have to admit a new bike is some mighty powerful medicine to help get over a lost love. I thought you had repaired your old bike. Turned out not to be fixable?

^^^ Only 50K? Man, you must not ride much. lol Lemme know how that feels Tony to have to start over again.

And Here's ANOTHER Gripe about Gen III FJRs

Are you sure Mike's doesn't read "Having fun yet?".

    FJR Mileage Milestones

That's the attitude twistedcricket! With only 68K, it's finally broken in. But be forewarned, it might be a loooong time before it "gives up". And although the engine is bullet proof, it is not muffler proof.

    FJR Mileage Milestones

Old Yeller was loaded up and hauled away this morning. Upon closer inspection last week I noticed a couple things that caused me a little concern. So it's final odo reading was 223,113 miles. It even tugged at my wife's heart a bit to see her leaving the yard for the final time.

    FJR Streetfighter?!

^^^ As AJ said, it's a heavyweight streetfighter. You know it's kinda funny how Yamaha can take the same engine, from FZ-07 or the FZ-09, and come up with several different variations of essentially the same platform and everyone goes Oh and Ah over it. But heaven forbid someone comes up with...

    FJR Streetfighter?!

Not so sure about the sound, but I really like the way it looks.

2016 Is Official 6-spd, Slipper, LEDs, Analog Tach, Price

Just got back from a demo ride of several choice Yamaha offerings, including the venerable '16ES. All I can say is it really SUCKED big time to have to get back on Old Yeller afterwards. The bike is truly a fabulous machine. I have test ridden the '15 last year and frankly IMHO the '16 is a...

    Is FJR a good commuter?

Been commuting 27 miles ea. way, 8 months out of the year for the past 10+ years. I find being a heavier bike that it has it's advantages as a daily ride particularly on the rainy days. It feels more sure footed. I would also think, and probably wrongly, much lighter bikes would be less...

My Gen. One Era May Have Come To an End

You do realize Jasen you're talking about Tony right? South Florida to MN = hop + skip + jump For the rest of us it's a long a$$ ride. And thanks Tony for the offer.

My Gen. One Era May Have Come To an End

I have nothing useful to add to this thread. But I was just thinking... 9 10/10ths and 2 IBRs. So in 112 cumulative days of riding you managed to put on approximately 112K miles, or nearly half the miles on it's clock on a 12 yr old bike. And this doesn't even include the other 1K/day rides...
