After 2 years of owning this bike I finally decided to mount the saddle bags...I did the locktite fix on the locks. While I was looking at the bags I noticed that there are two parallel tabs on the lower front of the bags....what are they for? When the bags are mounted on the bike these tabs...

I had to laugh at that old saw about radio antennas....too true. Are you still involved in Ham Radio? I am also a Ham and have been thinking about a removeable antenna install on my bike. 73 VE6JHC

Get a Torx screw driver for the bags......

Personally I would not buy it. Other than the ticking issue (which Yamaha has covered even for out of warranty bikes) the history of these bikes has been very trouble free. I would take the $1200 and buy some cool stuff for your bike!

In Canada they don't have the PDP program and most larger dealers have a sample bike on the showroom floor. When I bought mine they had 8 in stock availible for sale. Funny how they market the bike differently in different countries....

I still have the bags sitting in my closet so that is good. I have never needed to use the bags yet as most of my riding has just been to work and back or afternoon trips....Now with WFO fast approaching I want to get my bike 100% ready and I will be needing the bags. I really like the look of...

What did you pay in Red Deer? Blackfoot had the bikes at $15999 and I was looking but when they advertised them at $14999 I went right in and bought it....I got the 7th of 8 bikes they had in stock. I looked at a few other dealers and nobody was close on the price....ProAm in Calgary would come...

My Dealer was Blackfoot Motorsports in Calgary. I double checked my paperwork this morning....3 year warranty.

Look in the paperwork that came with your bike.....mine lists the 3 year warranty as standard.

On the 05 FJR they have a 3 year warranty from the factory at no extra charge. It is included in the purchase of the bike. I was very surprized to find this out....maybe its to make use feel better for not getting the saddle bag linners.
