2016 Is Official 6-spd, Slipper, LEDs, Analog Tach, Price

Ya know, I really didn't want to spend the dough on a new bike any time soon. But damn....

Me being an influence. Bad or good, I don't know.

These things practically sell themselves. GJ only gave his buddy a little nudge. Way to go Jason. I have a Gen I. I've ridden a couple of Gen I and a couple of Gen II FJR. Both generations are pretty freakin' fantastic, IMHO.

    Stock dog bone length?

On the rear arm drawing, there is a part (actually two of them) called Arm 1. Some refer to them as dog bones. They are the links that connect bottom of the suspension assembly to the rear arm. I've suspected that the links that came with the bike when I bought it used are a little long...

    Most Desireable FJR Instrument Cluster

Looks like the Gen III is saying, "See you next time." It should add, "and it had better be soon, if you know what's good for you!!!"

This is what happens when you let a friend ride...

Hah! Not the outcome I had expected, but completely understandable. It only took one test-ride for me to be sold.

    FJR has no character?

Or sexual orientation. But seriously - soul? Who gives a fuck? The FJR is very good at what it does. Reliable, flickable (for a 650 lbs bike), carries two and camping gear with no complaint, and looks fuckin' great. What the hell does soul mean when you need to do a valve adjustment every...

    Toe dragging

Yeah, we can always depend on 'Zilla to give us words of wisdom on some subjects. I have about a quarter inch (that's a guess) of chicken strip on either side of my rear tire, and I pretty much never touch a toe to the pavement. Sometimes the peg scraper indicator thingy touches down, but my...

    Have I Neglected the FJR?

    cold weather

Wow, 105F is pretty ipmressive. I get cranky at about 90F. (Okay, I'm already cranky in general, but I tend to express my crankiness more at about 90F. Shut up, Pete!) But for lows, I've seen mid 20's without any serious problems. Not sure how low I'd go.

I think barb just realized the her parts are touching Iggy's parts. I meant bike parts, of course.

Opinions on the 2008 I'm considering (and how much I should offer for it)?

IMHO, even $8k is a bit high. In 2008, I paid about $7k for my '05.

    JB's New Bike!

I was going to recommend, "Tranny Killer," but that might give some the wrong idea. It would be the wrong idea, right, Hans?

    "Test" riders

I test rode the FJR I have now prior to buying it. The gentleman rode in front on his 'wing for a 30-minute loop. I thought that was a pretty good way to do it. I had also let him know that I would be paying cash, which I ended up doing.

How do I remove the riders seat? 2010

This might be my favorite new-guy-asks-a-question post ever. Any time someone goes on a forum and starts asking everyone what special way they should tug or pull something, it's a good one. I'll second that.

    I Need to Slow Down

I normally have little trouble maintaining a sensible speed on the highway and in neighborhoods. Back roads, however, can be a bit problematic for me. I like to lean, and I like to roll on out of a curve. If I'm already going 10 or 15 over into the turn, I often exit at about 20 or so over...
